Dakota's POV

Sadie definitely knows about us. She posted a picture on snapchat of Reid and I from one day she told us to take a picture together.

The caption then was "My Boys" but now it's "What a cute couple. I wish you two the best. Rot in hell, liars."

"Dakota, don't even sweat it." Reid told me, but I felt like shit. She was my best friend. I tried calling her and texting her, but she wouldn't answer. "Hey, she may come around in the future. For now, she's just going to keep declining your calls."

I sighed and nodded.

"On the otherhand, I don't know if this is the right time to do this or not, but do you want to be my boyfriend?" I smiled widely, but then, I sighed, thinking of the situation. "She's never really going to like it Dakota. You have to worry about yourself." He kissed my neck and I nodded.

"Yeah, I'll be your boyfriend." He grinned. I laughed and hugged him.

"We should go tell your parents that it's finally official." I rolled my eyes but shrugged. "What? Do you not want to tell them?" He asked, holding my waist. I smiled and kissed him.

"Of course I do. I just don't expect them to care. I mean, we've been together nonofficially for a while." He laughed and nodded.

"Got it. Well, I think you deserve a break." He kissed my shoulder. "And I think we should go on the next business trip." I turned around and raised my eyebrow.

"Reid, I don't know if you want that. We do a lot of family stuff and I know it's moving a bit quickly for you." He shrugged.

"I don't think it'd be so bad Kota." I grinned widely.

"Okay, the next one is in California. Two weeks from now." He raised his eyebrow.

"I can't wait." I leaned up and kissed him. "Until then, let's go somewhere today." I raised my eyebrow.

"Anyone who knows us or Sadie is going to be silently judging us, and you're okay with that?" He frowned and then shrugged.

"Dakota, I'm not ashamed of being with you. I don't care who sees it. You're my boyfriend." Wasn't this boy just straight?

His phone began to vibrate and I he frowned.

"Who could be calling me?" He pulled it from his pocket and raised his eyebrow. "Hello?" He sat there for a while and I heard someone yelling. "Oh, you're going to beat my ass?" He asked, smugly. "Dude, I'm sorry it hurt you, but you two weren't together." I'm guessing that's Oliver. He laughed a little. "He's not yours, he's my boyfriend and you'll just have to watch from the sidelines." I rolled my eyes and took the phone from him, hanging it up.

"Really? Watch from the sidelines? What kind of corny bullshit is that Reid?" He laughed and hugged me.

"I don't know."

"Hmm, so I'm that amazing that Oliver wants to fight you for me? Not surprised, I mean look at me." I pulled away from him and turned in a circle.

"Yes you are." He kissed me quickly. Where do you want to go today?" I shrugged, then grinned, getting an idea.

"A movie and ice cream. Love, Simon just came out and I've wanted to watch it." He raised his eyebrow.

"Is that the gay movie you've been going on about?" I nodded excitedly. He shrugged.

"Okay, we can see that." I stood quickly and began to get dressed.

"See what times it plays." I told him as I looked for clothes. He laid back on my bed and looked through his phone.

"It's not on." My eyebrows raised.

"What? It just came out, there's no way!" He snickered.

"I was kidding. Comes on in an hour." I rolled my eyes and threw my shirt at him. He took it and put it under his back.

"I need that shirt Reid." He shrugged.

"Shouldn't have thrown it at me." I narrowed my eyes at him and he ignored me. I ran over and jumped on him, making him yelp in surprise.

"Shit Dakota, I did not expect that."

"Well maybe you shouldn't have wrinkled my shirt up." I said, pursing my lips. He raised his eyebrow and leaned up to kiss me.

"Who said it's wrinkled?" I sighed, rolling my eyes, yet smiling.

"You're laying on it Reid. It's literally crying to me now about how wrinkled it is." He laughed at me and shrugged.

"Maybe you should find another shirt."

"What, and let you wear mine? Stop trying to wear my clothes." He laughed loudly and sat up, placing the shirt over my head.

"That was a one time accident. And it didn't end up too well."

"Ain't that the truth." I mumbled, getting up. "But, I guess it was meant to happen." I shrugged.

"Are you hurt about Sadie?" He asked me, sitting up, worriedly.

"I mean... yeah. She's been my best friend for years Reid. I wish I'd told her myself. Or at least try to explain it to her." He swung his legs over the side of the bed and ran his hands through his hair.

"Do you want me to talk to her?" He asked, his face confused.

"No, no. That's not your job babe. You shouldn't have to do that." I smiled, flattered that he'd try to fix things.

"Are you sure? I don't mind. Like you said, she was your best friend and now there's nothing." I walked over to him and sat beside him. He kissed my cheek and I laid my head on his shoulder.

"I'll be okay Reid. Our friendship is most likely over." I grabbed his hand and held it tightly. "Thank you for caring though."

"Well, you're kinda my boyfriend." He told me, smiling widely. I laughed and hugged him.

"You're amazing, you know?" I mumbled.

"Yeah, I kinda thought so. Get dressed so we can watch your gay movie." I shook my head and kissed him softly before standing up.

"Are you going to get dressed?" He raised his eyebrow.

"I am dressed." I pursed my lips and shrugged. He had on jeans and a white t-shirt.

"Okay, fine with me." He shook his head at me and laid back on the bed as he watched me get ready. It didn't take me too long, I don't think. He seemed to be deep in thought. But, I didn't bother him until I was done. "Ready Reid?" He looked at me and stood. He licked his lips and pulled me close by my waist.

"You look really hot babe."

"I know." I kissed him, my hands running down his chest. "But thank you." He rolled his eyes but smiled.

"Let's go before we miss it."

"You must really want to watch it too." He shrugged.

"Just want to make sure you don't miss it and throw a fit." Which I would, yes.

"I'm glad you know." He laughed and my parents were standing in the kitchen talking.

"Where you heading boys?" My dad asked.

"To see a movie." They raised their eyebrow.

"Out together? Alone? You don't think anyone will suspect you guys are together?"He asked, confused. I shrugged and smiled.

"Who cares. We're out now." They both grinned widely, very satisfied.

"Wow! That's amazing boys. How did Sadie take it?" Mom asked, curiously.

"Uhh, she didn't take it well at all. She and I aren't friends anymore. But I'm fine guys, I promise. We're going to be late for Love, Simon." Mom's eyes widened.

"I wanted to see that! Why didn't you two tell us?"

"I'm sorry. Maybe you guys can watch tomorrow?" She sighed and nodded, coming over and kissing my forehead. She kissed Reid's forehead and he smiled a little.

"See you later." I told them, pulling Reid out. He waved behind him and followed me. I got in the driver's seat and waited for him to get in. "Buckle up babe." He raised his eyebrow.

"Dakota, you don't drive fast enough to get into an accident. I'll be totally safe." I frowned.

"You never know what can happen Reid. Please just put it on?" He sighed and pulled it across his body. I smiled and backed out of the driveway.

I put on my Troye Sivan album on and started bobbing my head.

"I hope this movie is good." He mumbled to me.

"It is, hush up I like this song." My My My was on and I was singing it, just as great as usual. "Oh my my my, I die every night with you."

"I'm dying from your singing." Reid mumbled and I rolled my eyes.

"I sing like an angel, I'm guessing you don't know because you've never heard one sing before." He shook his head and leaned over to kiss my cheek.

"Whatever." I kept singing, hearing him hum it a little and I smiled.

We made it to the movie and went into the theater.

"We're barely here in time. I'm surprised we made it." Reid said as we found seats. It was packed in the show room, but of course. This was supposed to be an amazing movie, I wasn't surprised.

"But, at least we got here." He nodded and reached over, taking my hand in his. I looked at him and smiled, seeing him smile.

I was engaged throughout this whole movie. I cried a few times and I looked over to Reid to see him wiping his eyes. I smiled and continued watching it.

"That was the best movie I've ever seen babe." I told Reid as we walked to the car. He nodded.

"It was pretty good."

"Pretty good? No, it is literally now my favorite movie. I'm already ready to go see it again." He laughed, shaking his head. He took my keys from me and my mouth dropped.

"What? I want some ice cream and it's going to take thirty minutes to get there if you drive." I rolled my eyes and we got in. He put his seatbelt on and I nodded and put mine on.

"Now, Reid. Don't drive too quickly. I get car sick." He snickered a little bit and nodded. "It's not funny." I put my music on and Reid shook his head. "We can listen to your music, just this once."

"We don't have to. Yours isn't horrible." I shrugged and plugged his phone in. A song by the Neighbourhood came on and I pursed my lips.

"Not so bad, I haven't really listened to them much."

"It's pretty good music Kota." I nodded, I could get used to this.

"I guess we can ride together without problems Reid." He laughed a little.

"Yeah... we'll have to make a combined playlist and you'll have to let me drive." I frowned but shrugged.

"Fine. As long as I can sometimes." He snickered and grabbed my hand, squeezing it.

"I guess we'll actually make it as a couple, right?" I shrugged.

"Probably not." We both laughed loudly and I sighed. I hoped we did make a good couple.
