Hayden's POV

I sat next to Mason as Finn sat on the other side of him. I knew Mason had a lot of friends but I didn't expect him to have close real friends. Since most of them are fake assholes. I sighed and shifted awkwardly in my seat.

I've never been to a fancy restaurant like this before, hell I've never really ever been to a restaurant. My aunt is always too busy with her husband and work to have time with me.

I'm fine with it though I get more time with the dogs and Mason. "Hayden?" I looked up to see Mason staring at me with a worried expression. I blinked my eyes in confusion. Has he been trying to get my attention this whole time.

A few of Riley's friends snickered causing a sharp glare from Mason. "I'm sorry. I just spaced out." I replied nervously. I'm just an embarrassment, thanks to Mason. I don't think with him around.

"Well, what do you want to drink?" He asked pointing at the unamused waitress. I blushed shyly and told her water is fine. She walked away after she sent me a glare.

"Are you okay?" Mason asked putting a hand on my shoulder. I nodded my head leaning a bit closer to him. I hope he doesn't notice.

"Have you found what you want to eat?" He asked flipping through his menu. I shook my head and started to go through my menu.

I stuck with a grilled chicken salad. I wouldn't want to embarrass myself in front of Mason. Once I told the waitress what I wanted one of Jasper's friends coughed gay.

"Excuse me." I said getting up. I pushed my chair back in before I hurriedly walked to the bathroom. I knew someone was following me, but I didn't look back.

I pushed open the bathroom door and was immediately pushed against the wall. I gasped in shock as a hand gripped my throat. I blinked my tears away as I looked up at who it was.

"What is a faggot like you hanging around with Mason?" Evan yelled in my face. He was sitting with Jasper at the table and I was confused why would Jasper want to be friends with him.

"Were friends." I coughed out scratching his hand to move. A tear fell down my cheek as he pressed harder.

"What do I have to do to show you you're nothing but a waste of space and no one not even Mason would want you." He growled in my face. Is this guy stupid Mason saw us both leave at the same time and we've been gone enough to know something's up. "Only me can take care of you! Not Mason!"

"Evan please your crush on me is pathetic. Mason doesn't like me. Quit being a douchebag." I said pushing him back roughly.

"Why does Mason suddenly like you?" He asked sadly. I swear he's so bipolar. His aggression gets out of hand, for an example choking me. "Are you cheating on me?" He asked rage now filling his eyes.

"Evan, we aren't even dating, but no Mason and I are just friends." I stated clearly. Evan smiled and pushed me up against the wall again. He forced his lips on mine as I stood there doing nothing.

I pushed him away softly this time not wanting him to freak out again. "Mason's coming soon, leave." I said opening the door. Evan kissed my cheek before leaving.

I rolled my eyes and slowly slid down the wall. The door opened and Mason came in looking worried. His eyes finally landed on me and he crouched down beside me. "Are you okay, Hayden?" He asked concerned.

I looked up at him and smiled. Maybe he can save me from Evan.
