Chapter 13
The demon whimpered softly as he begun to wake up. He rested his head gently against the smooth, warm back of the other male, relaxing while listening to Actaeron's smooth and rhythmic breathing. Elias shut his eyes tightly and lightly kissed up the male's spine until he reached the back of his neck. He stopped and hesitated. The male was still asleep. Slowly, he wrapped his tail gently around the other's thigh, resting his head on his shoulder and tightly wrapping his arm around his waist. He wasn't sure if the other truly loved him. He couldn't let him know about this. Slowly he stood up and looked at Actaeron over his shoulder. Slowly he got himself dressed and looked outside. It was still dark, not anything he could control. But he wanted to make the other proud of him.
Lightly, on his toes, he stepped, stair after stair down into the main hall before leaving the building. He stopped and took a deep breathe, closing his eyes and lifted his head towards the sky. Once his eyes opened again the stars reflected in his dark eyes. Elias smiled. Oh, how long it had been since he saw the stars. He looked ahead again. There was going to a few hours until the first trainees would be wakened for training. He quietly went into the training hall and turned on the lights. He shielded his eyes until they adjusted to the light. Time to get started...
****
Actaeron woke up when the sun hit his eyes and growled, rolling over. What idiot left the curtain open? When he opened his eyes again, Elias wasn't there. His heart jumped into his throat. He sat up quickly and hurriedly ran around, trying to get ready in a short amount of time. Elias could be anywhere, and what if he had been kidnapped? If he hurried he could find him. He ran down the stairs and caught one of the arms of a trainer.
"Elias, where is Elias? Have you seen him this morning?" The trainer just frowned and shook his head lightly.
"No, I am sorry. Have you checked the training hall? The lights have been on since early this morning. You might be able to find him there."
Actaeron let go of him, leaving 5 bruises of where his hand had dug into his arm. He ran from the building and went to the training hall, almost breaking down the doors as he opened them. He looked around then took a deep breath, trying to calm himself when he saw the small demon training with Actaeron's personal trainer. He smiled and slowly walked over to watch.
Elias was using quick movements to dodge the trainer's attempts to attack him. His black tail lashed behind him as balance. The boy looked like he had been doing this for hours. His hair wet and slicked back with sweat, his body shimmering in the light. It was... beautiful.
He watched the trainer's staff as he landed the strike into the boy's stomach, another to the side of his head. The small male crumpled to the ground, covering his face before standing again, slowly.
"Again... Let's go again." He said firmly. The trainer looked at him then looked at Actaeron. Slowly the male approached Elias from behind and gently placed his hand on his shoulder. Elias turned around quickly to face him. His nose was bleeding and one of his eyes was bruised, along with his cheekbone where he had just been hit. The boy's shoulders slowly bounced as his breathing was heavy, uncontrollable.
"Elias... I-"
"Are you not proud of me yet? I can go again! And I can run for 35 seconds now, wanna see?" Elias quickly interrupted and begun to make his way past him to the track. Actaeron sighed and grabbed onto his arm.
"How long have you been doing this? You look like shit." He muttered quietly. Terrified and hurt, the boy slowly turned to face Actaeron again, his eyes and head lowered.
"Since early morning, when it was still dark," he whispered, almost inaudibly. "I am sorry..." Actaeron gently lifted his head and looked at the many bruised and bleeding spots on his face.
"No one can become the perfect hunter in a matter of hours. I will still be proud of you without you overworking yourself. All of this, it wasn't necessary. Go clean up." Actaeron said softly and let go of his arm. Solemnly, the demon walked out of the training hall and back up to the room he shared with the man, who he feared was terribly upset with him. He hoped he didn't do this only to have the male be unforgiving towards this for the rest of his life.
Once inside the safety of the room, he closed and locked the door, wiping tears away from his eyes, sniffling. He got undressed, his throat hurting from trying to keep himself from crying. The cloth trembled beneath the shaking fingertips. He slowly walked to the bathroom and closed the door, turning on the water and staring at it until steam slowly rose from the bottom of the tub. He stepped inside, the water hitting his shoulders and back, hot, burning hot water pelted him like the molten rocks would hit the forest after being propelled an erupting volcano.
He hadn't survived inside the shower for more than 30 seconds before he broke. Hot tears streaming down the face and merging with the water that ran like rivers down his body. He sobbed before covering his mouth. He felt like he didn't belong here anymore. Actaeron was mad at him. He believed Excalibur was disappointed in him, for causing such chaos within his compound. There was no one... no one... Kiani. He looked up from the tub floor and turned off the shower.
Quickly getting dressed he ran out of the room and back down the stairs. He bumped into a few people but didn't think much of it. He didn't spare any time getting to Kiani's house, banging on the door. Excalibur opened the door and looked at him. Tears were streaming down his face and his cheeks were red and sore. Excalibur frowned.
"What happened?" He asked kindly. Elias shook his head.
"I need to see your daughter...I-I mean... can I see your daughter, sir?" He muttered and did not look him in the eye. Without a second thought, he slowly opened the door for him. Elias pushed past him and ran around the house, looking for Kiani as a lost puppy would.
The last door he came to was Kiani's door and he hit the door. Kiani slowly opened and looked at him. She was still in her night clothes, he wondered why. Suddenly she sneezed and he frowned. He wiped his tears.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concerned for her health. She shook her head and went back to her room, inviting him in.
"I am just sick. I am fine. Come in," Elias followed quietly and sat down on the bed. "The real question here is, what is wrong with you?" Elias frowned and looked down.
"Oh, it is nothing. I just.. Actaeron doesn't love me, does he?" He mumbled. Kiani sighed and sat down next to him, gently wrapping her arm around his shoulder.
"Actaeron, it is hard to tell what he is thinking or feeling. But I can tell you one thing, I can see both of you from my room, and when he carried you to his room after that demon showed up, I saw sheer concern in his eyes. He looks at no one like how he looks at you." She said softly. Slowly, as she spoke, Elias gently leaned into her shoulder and closed his eyes, still sniffling.
"He got mad at me for trying to impress him this morning... did I do something wrong?" Kiani looked down at him and shook her head.
"It depends on what you did, exactly." He nodded and bit his lip.
"This morning, I-he was sleeping-I know that is creepy- but he was just beautiful," He stopped, hearing himself and turned bright red. "I just... I wanted him to love me. I feel so what's the word?" He asked and looked at Kiani. She was just smiling at him, giving him no looks of judgment or disappointment.
"In love, you feel in love with him." She offered and shifted her position slightly to make herself more comfortable. Elias nodded.
"Yes! That is the word... in love. I feel in love with him, but sometimes I feel like he doesn't love me back.. so this morning I left the room early and went to go train. But when he woke up he found me and watched his trainer put me on the ground. He... he wasn't happy."
Kiani nodded and looked up at her wall, thinking. "Well, I don't think it is because he was mad at you. Actually, maybe a little. But you shouldn't take that so seriously. He was probably concerned for you. He didn't want you hurt. Did he say anything similar to that?" Elias was quiet for a moment before speaking.
"He told me not to overwork myself."
"Exactly. He is not as mad as you think he is. You see, he is a very strict and hard person to be around. That was how he was raised. His father was a soldier and wanted Actaeron to be one as well.
Training began the moment he was born. He got no love from his mother, she wasn't allowed to hold him when he cried or breastfeed him. When he cried his father just let him. Said it built character and he needed to figure things out on his own. As he grew older the training became more intense. His father beat him for showing any emotion. The easiest way to put it was he was unloved until he was the perfect soldier." She said and looked at him. "You probably already heard this from him, but training is a very long process. I started training when I was thirteen. Well, I am seventeen and I just finished my training a month or so before you got here." Elias nodded slowly.
"So... what should I do." He asked. She stood up.
"Go, be with him, talk to him. It doesn't matter to me. Just be with him," She said proudly with a smile. "And remember. If you need anything else I will be around. I have nowhere else to go." Elias nodded and stood up with a smile. He hugged her tightly before running out of the house to find Actaeron.
Actaeron had been in his room, upset that he had disappeared again, but more worried that he had run away. He jumped, hearing the door swing open and violently hit the wall. He began to turn but only saw a flash of black before he felt the soft bed underneath him. He huffed and looked at the demon, seeing his tightly coiled around his waist, smiling happily and...purring?
He sighed and gently put his hand on his head. "Where have you been?"
"Just with Kiani," Actaeron nodded and sat up, but the boy continued to cling to him. "I love you." The boy whispered into his side.
Actaeron froze and looked down at him. He didn't know how to respond. How could he respond? He gripped his chest tightly and looked away from him. Elias looked up at him and frowned, releasing his grip on the male. He watched him worriedly. How was this going to go? Was it true that the man in front of him truly did not love him?

Hello readers,
Sorry for the long wait for the update. Life has been busy as hell for me and never really had time to squeeze in another chapter amongst the chaos. But I was able to update as everything has slowed down.
Anyways, I have recently found a book on Wattpad called Ultimate Karma (written by EraofShadows ) which is another BoyXBoy romance. I highly suggest this book if you are interested in the types of works that I have been writing recently.
Check it out!
