Mason's POV

Today is finally Friday and I woke up to my alarm and not a football. I smiled happily grabbing my football. I slowly walked to Jasper's room to see he's not in there.

"Damnit." I whispered turning around. I yelped as a football slammed into my stomach. I groaned as I laid on the floor. Riley started laughing hysterically and then Jasper joined in once he came out of the bathroom.

"Hey, that's my thing." Jasper said punching Riley in the shoulder. "But, good job." He said laughing. I heard a smacking sound and I'm assuming they're giving each other a high five.

I rolled my eyes sitting up. "I hate you guys so much." I growled. They both laughed and walked away. God I'm the middle child I shouldn't be the one getting picked on.

"Come on big baby we're going to be late!" Jasper yelled from downstairs. I glared at the wall even though it did nothing to me.

Riley ran out the door hearing a honk. His secret boyfriend always picks him up in the morning. He never told me they were dating, but I seen them kissing before.

I got up and quickly got ready. Jasper started honking the horn as loud as it could go. I rolled my eyes running down the stairs.

Once I got out of the car Caleb, Finn and the group ran up to me. "Are you Mason?" Ash asked first. "Did I upset you yesterday?" I snorted pushing past them.

"New rule," I said stopping. "No more picking on Hayden or anybody." They all stared me confused.

"Why?" Alex asked. I glared him causing him to put his head down. He's always been a wimp.

"Hayden's my friend." I said smiling too myself. Caleb gave me a weird look before shrugging.

"Whoever Mason's friends with is our friend." Caleb said putting his arm around me. I smiled at him then the others.

"But he's a fag." Ash said glaring at us. "Are you okay with that? Or are you one?" Finn looked at me concerned. I've already told him I'm gay. But I'm not telling anyone in this group. Maybe Caleb some other time.

Caleb started laughing before letting go of me. He grabbed Ash's arm pulling him forward. "Call him a faggot again and we'll treat you like one." He said all serious now.

Sometimes he scares me. Ash glared him before roughly pushing Caleb's hand off of his arm. I should start saying mess with me you mess with Caleb first.

I walked off with Finn following me. "You like Hayden now?" He asked whispering. I smiled at him stopping at my locker.

"Maybe, a little." I blushed seeing the look Finn is giving me. "It's not a big deal. He doesn't like me anyways." I said shrugging. I grabbed my books from my locker and turned around. Caleb was standing there and Finn left without saying goodbye.

I stared wide eyes at Caleb. Did he happen to hear any of that. "What?" He asked turning around. I laughed nervously.

"Nothing you just scared me." I said walking to class. He followed me again. I heard laughing up ahead and I checked out what was happening.

On a locker there was a word spray painted on there. FAGGOT, I read. "Who wrote that!" I growled at Caleb. He stared at me with wide eyes.

"It was yesterday after you guys left." He said shamefully. I glared at him causing him to look everywhere but me. That's probably why Hayden was so upset yesterday. Why didn't he tell me.

"Go clean it." I said causing Caleb to look at me in shock.

"It wasn't me! It was mostly Evan and the others. I just didn't say anything." He said whining like a kid. I rolled my eyes before grabbing a paper towel and wetting it down.

"Then help me clean it."

I walked into class ten minutes late. The glared at me and I smiled sheepishly at her. She wasn't amused. I sat down next to Hayden again and he gave me a weird look.

"Why are you so late?" He asked whispering. I looked at the teacher to make sure she wasn't watching.

"Cleaning your locker." I said smiling at him. He smiled back and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"You didn't have to do that." He said blushing. Oh I love when he blushes.

"No, but I wanted to." I said getting a glare from the teacher. She must've heard us talking to loud. I shrugged my shoulders giving my attention back to Hayden.

"We should hang out ag-"

"Mason and Hayden detention!"
