"Ryan you did what?!" Skyler shouted, jumping to her feet.

I knew she would react like this, I was just hoping that she wouldn't. Skyler was my best friend so of course I had to tell her. I had to tell somebody. Advice was the thing I needed most right now because soon problems will come up. Someone had to be on my side. I couldn't do this alone.

"Are you out of your mind Ryan?! You could get us all killed!" She paced back and forth, ranting on about the fact that our secret was on the line.

"Like I didn't know that already Sky" I said, trying to keep a calm tone "Not all of us would get killed, if anything I would be the one to lose my life, not you guys."

"What about Jay, did you ever think of how much this would hurt him, and how it would hurt me? You know they would come after Destry too!" she stopped pacing.

"Skyler, please help me I can't live in a world without him and I know he wont tell" I put my head in my hands.

Skyler sighed, running a hand through her dark brown hair. She sat back down and wrapped her arms around my shoulders.

"For now lets keep things to ourselves" her voice was now calm.

"And what about Jay? I have not told him yet"

"You will have to tell him and I'll be there when you do" she smiled.

I smiled back slightly and hugged her tightly. I knew I could trust her with this. Skyler had been my best friend for as long as I could remember. We met back in one of the old town's Jay and I moved to after our parents had died, but that's another story. I've seen her before when I was human, but we never actually talked. I knew why now of course. My friend was a vampire and obviously human's couldn't know about that kind of world. Unfortunately I did, but that's a different story as well.

Since the day I officially met Skyler, she had always been there for me and I knew she always would. I couldn't asked for a better best friend than her.

"So when do I get to meet the lucky guy?" she spoke, bringing me out of my thoughts.

I raised an eyebrow at her. I knew what she was thinking, she was going to give him a lecture about "If you break my best friend's heart", and then possibly embarrass me more.

"So babe, is it the hard way or the easy way?" she smirked at me. I bit my bottom lip, looking around the clearing we were in as if searching for an answer.

"Hard way it is" she giggled before dashing off.

"Wait no! Skyler don't!" I shouted, but it was to late she was already on her way.

Growling, I ran into the woods after her and it wasn't long before I caught up. She giggled uncontrollably as I failed each attempt to catch her. The girl was more clever than I was! Not fair in my opinion because she lived this life style longer than I have.

Between the trees I could see we were getting closer to our neighborhood. I ran faster, causing me to leave Skyler behind as I raced to go warn Destry.

Sadly I failed. Once I had gotten to his house, Skyler had caught up with me. I growled at her to leave, but being the stubborn little vampire she was, leaving wasn't an option for her.

"Sky if you dare go up to that window.." I snapped.

She smirked and took a leap for it, but quickly I tackled her back down. She hissed, kicking me off of her. I groaned in pain as my back slammed against the ground. Sky was now on top, pinning me down. Her hand was on my neck to make sure I wouldn't be able to get up. Seeing that her eyes were black and fangs out, I had pissed her off with that tackle.

"You can't hurt me" I grinned.

She raised her eyebrows, "I know, but I can make your hair pay the price".

"No please I beg of you!" I screamed as she started to ruffle my hair.

Suddenly the ground began to crack beneath us. Skyler stopped torturing me and looked around, clearly she was alarmed by this. But as for me, I knew the cause of this strange happening.

"Mind getting off of my boyfriend before I make the earth swallow you?" warned Destry.

Without hesitation, Sky let me free. I then blurred to Destry's side, wrapping my arms around his waist and stood up on my toes to kiss his cheek.

"Calm down, she's a close friend of mine" I assured him.

His eyes stayed on Skyler, narrowing in a glare. I sighed and reached a hand up to place on his cheek. He automatically turned to face me, which to where I kissed his lips softly. Gorgeous blue eyes stared into my piercing green ones. It was completely hypnotizing that I forgot we weren't alone.

"Well I don't mean to interrupted, but would either of you mind telling me what the hell is going on?" asked Sky, who was a tad annoyed by the situation.

Rolling my eyes, I motioned her to come closer. She obeyed and I quickly got to introducing her.

"Destry my love, this is the one and only Skyler Nasik" I smiled slightly "Who is also my best friend"

"The best friend who will kick your-" she began to say.

"That's not going to happen" I glared at her.

"I agree it wont, because I love Ryan dearly and I wouldn't dare to hurt him" Destry stated.

I smiled and looked down at my feet.

"Well that's what I want to hear" said Skyler before she waved and left us to be alone.

I gasped as Destry's arm sneaked around my waist and pulled me down onto the grass. He laughed, pulling me close to him. There we laid, face to face, staring into each other eyes. The tip of my finger traced the side of his face, down to his lips where I kissed him deeply.

Suddenly drop of rain started to fall from the sky, causing us to break our kiss. We both looked up and laughed.

"Kissing in the rain, how romantic" he chuckled and helped me up.

"You can say that" I replied as we both hurried inside his house.

I noticed his parents weren't home, probably working late again which was perfect. I didn't want anyone to bother us tonight.

I sat on Destry's bed, my back slumped down against the wall. His head rested on my stomach as I ran my fingers through his hair, humming a soft tune.

His eyes that were closed, slowly opened and looked up at me questioningly. Gently he took my hand from his head and held it. His lips kissed each finger and then my palm before looking up at me.

"Ryan can I ask you something?" he finally spoke.

I nodded and looked into his eyes.

"How did come to this? You being a vampire"

"Well it's a long story, but one important thing you need to know is, I didn't choose to be a monster"

He stood silent, waiting for me to continue. I sighed and began my story.

"When I was human, I was aware that there were such things as vampires and other creatures. My brother Jay was one of them due to being bitten by a female one. This was all during the time a deadly disease had broken out where I lived. It killed my mother and father. They refused to be a vampire so Jay had to respect their wishes. Soon after I came down with a case and it was worse than my parent's. The doctor said I would be gone in the matter of days. Jay wasn't going to let that happen though. So he changed me."

"How old were you love?" Des asked.

"Sixteen and as for the pain..Well there are no words" I pressed my lips together.

Destry leaned up to peck my lips. I kissed back feeling a lump in my throat.

"I don't want to be a monster, I wish I could be-" I was cut off by his lips crushing against mine once again.

"You are not a monster Ryan, do you hear me? You are an amazing person and I'm glad to have you as my boyfriend. I wouldn't want anyone else but you" he kissed my cheek.

"I've killed people..innocent people, Des. If you saw how I was back then you wouldn't be saying that now.."

He shook his head at me and took my hand. "That was then and this is now, you are good. Don't ever doubt my love for you Ryan Pierce."

"They say no one is perfect Destry, but I swear you're perfect for me" I smiled.

He smiled back at me before yawning. It was late and it was obvious he was tired.

I let him use me as a pillow like before. Again I ran my fingers through his soft dark hair, humming a lullaby. Almost instantly he fell asleep looking so very peaceful.

My little human boy.
