The next morning, I found a small white box on our door step. I picked it up and opened it. Inside was a letter.

It said:

Hello Kyi,

            This is just a little thank you gift for saving my life on Friday. I know it isn't much but please take it. I hope it protects you as you protected me.

                                               Daylon.

I looked inside the box and saw a necklace. It had a gold chain. On the gold chain was a little pendant. The pendant was made of three hearts. One was made of silver, another gold, and the last platinum.

I smiled and put it on. I tucked it under my shirt.

That day at school, everyone was looking at me like I was a ravenous dog. Hayley ran out of the crowd, crying.

"What's wrong?" I asked as she wrapped her arms around me.

"I... I sewer ... I sewer I didn't tell them." She said in between sobs.

"Tell them what?" I asked.

Then it hit me. Someone had found out about my secret and told everyone. Now everyone knew I was gay.

"That's right, Hayley, you didn't tell everyone. I did." A voice said behind us.

We turned and saw Fang behind us.

"Your not the only one in this school that can read minds."  Fang said mockingly. 

"Go to hell!" I yelled.

"Ooh, I'm so scared." Fang said sarcastically.

Everyone laughed.

"Go back to hell, you daemon." Hayley screamed.

"And who is going make me?" He asked  with a wicked smile.

"We will." Two voices said from behind us. 

 We turned and saw Tiy and Taylor emerge from the crowd.

"You still side with him? Even though he's gay? And in love with a mortal? Even though he betrayed you?" Fang said in amazement.

"He did not betray anyone. He is our friend and always will be. No matter what." Tiy said looking at me.

Fang laughed and said," Then yo shall share the same fate." 

He put his hand out his hand and from his finger tips shot a black beam of energy. I dropped Hayley and put myself in front of my friends, and right in the path of the beam. I closed my eyes and waited to be struck. Only I wasn't. I opened my eyes. What I saw is unexplainable. There, two feet in front of me was the dark beam. Where it was was stopped it was surrounded by a bright pink light. The necklace I got this morning was glowing with the same light.

Then I realized what had happened. A power much more ancient and powerful than anything Fang could summon, was protecting me. Love. I know that sounds super cheesy but it's true. The necklace Daylon had given me was protecting me from Fang's dark magic.

Fang finally became exhausted and gave up. My necklace stopped glowing.

All the teachers came out to see out to see what was going on. They saw Fang on the ground, passed out from exhaustion.Then they looked at me. 

Of course I got called to the head master's office.

I told him what happened. He looked at me. Then he scratched his long white beard. 

"I believe you. Only one power could send of such a burst of energy. And son you have that power. As for the rumors that have been going around. Are they true? Are you really in love with a mortal?" The headmaster asked.

I looked at the ground and nodded.

The head master shook his head.

"I'm sorry, but I have to do this. Kyiler Argo Dawn, you are hear by expelled from this school." The head master said sternly.

All my friends started talking at once. I sat there in silence.  I couldn't Believe what had just happened. Expelled for the person I love. 

"Silence!" The head master said slamming his hand down on his desk. Everyone went silent.

"I don't want to do this, I really don't. You are a great student. But wizard law states that any student has any interaction with a mortal must be expelled." The head master said.

"Wait, what if Kyi wasn't the only one to interact with this mortal?" Hayley asked.

"Then the others would face the same punishment." The head master said plainly.

"Than I must be expelled too. I interacted with the same mortal, I read him mind." Hayley said standing up.

Tiy and Taylor stood and said, "We would to." in unison.

"Well than, I'll call your parents and tell them what has happened." the head master said grabbing the phone.
