It is finally Friday! I can't wait. I just got invited to a party (after what felt like hours of arguing, my parents finally un-grounded me). Then, an idea popped into my head.
I grabbed my phone and called Hayley, the host of the party.
"Hey, Hay! I just had a question about your party." I said when she answered .
"Okay," She said.
"I was just wondering if I could bring a friend." I said smiling a bit.
"Sure, the more the merrier." Hayley said happily.
"See ya later." I said hanging up.
I jumped out of my bed and ran down stairs. I opened the front door as silently as I could. and ran over to the Solter's house. I knocked and eminently Mrs. Solter answer the door.
"Hello Mrs.Solter. May I speak with Daylon?" I asked very politely.
"Oh, well aren't you just a gentle man? Sure thing." she replied with an ear to ear grin.
She went over to the stairs and shouted, "Daylon, you've got a visitor." Then, she turned and continued to clean.
Daylon came down the stairs with headphones in his ears. He saw me standing in the door way and smiled. He walked over to me and took out his headphones.
"Hey, Kyiler, is it?" Daylon said with a smile.
"Ya, just call me Kyi. I ... well my friends are havin' a party tonight, and I was wondering if you want to come?" I said trying not to blush.
"Are you sure I'm welcome? I mean we don't even go to the same school." He asked raising an eyebrow.
"They're totally fine with it." I lied.
"Well, I'll go ask my mom." He said.
He turned and left, leaving me in the door way. A couple minuets later, he came back smiling.
"She's totally fine with that. When and where?" He asked.
"I'll just pick you up in about an hour. See ya." I said happily.
"See ya." Daylon said shutting the door.
As I walked away I realized my heart was racing like I'd just run a marathon.
Now came the hard part, convincing my parents to give Daylon a ride.
I got into the house and bumped right into my dad.
"Where have been?" He asked crossing his arms.
"Over at the Solter's. Why do you ask?" I retaliated
"I told you no going over there." My dad said angrily.
"Oh, calm down. I was just talking to Daylon. Oh, by the way I invited him to the party, and offered to give him a ride. I hope you don't mind." I said calmly.
My dad looked like he was about to have a heart attack.
"What?! No! Absolutely not! It is bad enough that we have to live next to him, now I have to give him a ride. Is he even invited?" My dad said through gritted teeth.
"Yes, he is invited! And we are giving him a ride whether you like it or not! Now, if you don't mind, I have a party to go to and you're taking me, and Daylon." I snapped.
I had never felt so angry before. I think my dad was more surprised than I was. he took a step back and said, "Fine, I'll take him, but I won't enjoy it."
...................................................................................
My dad sat in the car while I ran and got Daylon.
I quickly knocked on the door. This time, Daylon was the one to answer the door.
"Oh, hi Daylon. Ready?" I asked slightly blushing.
"Yep." He said smiling.
He looked cuter than usual. I don't know what it was but he seemed to be cuter than usual.
We walked to the car and we both sat in the back.
"Hello Mr. Dawn." Daylon said to my dad. My dad just grunted and drove.
"Sorry, my dad is in a bad mood." I whispered to him.
"Oh..." He said nodding.
We rode in silence all the way there.
My dad dropped us off without a word. We walked to the front door. I knocked. Hayley answered and looked completely shocked.
"Hello, Hayley. This is Daylon, my neighbor. Daylon this is Hayley, my best friend." I introduced them.
They shook hands and exchanged greetings.
"Come right this way Daylon." Hayley said uneasily.
"Kyi! When you said you where bringing a friend, you didn't say he was a mortal." Hayley whispered to me.
"Well, you never said he had to be a magician." I retorted.
"You don't understand. I'm fine with him being here, but Fang is here." She said looking very concerned.
Fang is probably the most dangerous magician in the entire school. He practices dark magic. Of course they don't allow that kind of magic at school, but everyone knows he do it at home. He is about six feet tall and about two hundred pounds of muscle. That my sound hot but he is totally scary. And the worst thing about him being here is he absolutely loathes mortals.
"Why did you invite him?!" I asked angrily.
"I didn't. Someone else must have told him and he just kinda showed up. I couldn't tell to go because he might just kill me for doing so." She said looking around nervously.
I thought for a second. Then I decided to worry about that when it becomes a problem.
"I'll worry that when it becomes a problem." I said calmly.
She shook her head in agreement.
We continued onto the party. Everyone was looking at Daylon like he was a disease.
"Everyone is staring, are you sure I'm welcome?" Daylon asked.
"I'm positive. Their just weird." I said reassuringly.
"Okay..." Daylon said nervously.
We walked around a bit, and for the most part people just left us alone.
Then out of the blue, Daylon pulled me out into a corn.
"Kyi, we have to talk." He said seriously.
"What's wrong?" I asked half excited half scared.
He opened his mouth to say something when someone yelled across the room. I recognized the voice was Fang's.
I became scared. I tried to get to the door, but it was too late, fang had already seen him.
"Well, well well, look at what we have here. A puny little mortal." Fang said as the crowd split, making a path right towards Daylon and me.
"Who are you?" Daylon asked.
"I'm your worst nightmare." Fang said mockingly.
Fang raised his hand and suddenly Daylon went into some kind of seizure.
"Stop it!" I screamed. Daylon stopped moving.
I checked his heart beat to make sure he was still alive. He was. I breathed a sigh of relief.
Fang raised an eyebrow.
"Look who's befriended the mortal." Fang said with a cocky smile.
"Go away, Fang." I said through gritted teeth.
Everyone around me went "Oooooh..."
Fang didn't look so amused. Fang became extremal angry.
He thrust his hand at me and I began to choke. I felt as if I was being strangled. I gasped and tried to get air but I couldn't.
"Stop it!" Hayley commanded from the crowd.
Taylor, Tiy, and Hayley emerged from the crowd. Fang stopped and I gasp breathing hard. My friend rush to my side and helped me up. Fang walked towards us with an amused grin on his face. We all glared at him, our faces full of angry and hate.
"Tell me this, why have taken a liking to this human? I mean come on his is only human." Fang asked.
" No..." I growled, total anger in my voice. My eye began to glow with a brilliant white light. Everyone backed away from me, even Fang.
"You will pay for what you have done!" I said, my voice echoing as if someone else was speaking with me.
I thrust my hand out in front of me and spoke one word.
"Enoluma!" I screamed.
Enoluma is Ancient Tongue for light. This is a very hard spell to cast, but in that time of utter furry, the spell came easily to me. This spell was meant to ward off daemons and dark spirits. It has little effect on another magician, unless the have been practicing dark magic.
In an explosion of blinding white light, Fang fell to the ground, unconscious and smoke curling from his skin. Everyone began to whisper to each other, but I did'nt care.
I turned to Daylon, unconscious on the ground by my feet. I knelt down and began to heal his.
After a couple healing spells, Daylon came to.
"Ugh..." He grunted as he sat up. I helped his sit up.
"Wha... what happened?" Daylon croaked.
"It's okay, you just tripped and fell on your head.'' I said calmly.
"So that's why I have a splitting head ache. Does anyone have an Advil?" daylon asked looking around.
"I'll go get one." Hayley said running off to get an advil.
I hadn't even noticed my friends at my side. They looked just as concerned as I. Hayley came back and handed Daylon an Advil.
"That was quite the fall." Taylor said breaking the silence between us.
"Ya, you're lucky Kyi was there to help you eminently after you fell. He saved your life. If we had waited for an ambulance to get here, you would have been in a coma or worse." Tiy lied.
But she was right, if I hadn't of stopped Fang when I did, He would be dead.
Daylon rapped his arms around me in a great big hug. My face turned bright. When he pulled away, his face was the same color as mine.
"Sorry, I just didn't know what else to do." He said putting his hand behind his head and blushing even more.
"It's fine." I said turning a darker shade of red.
I really enjoyed that hug. I felt good in his arms.
The instant I thought that though, Hayley gasped and ran away.
"Oh, crap..." I said running after her. I had forgotten that Hayley can read minds.
