Great grandma's funeral was a couple days later. So many people showed up for her funeral. I have never seen so many people in one place before.
After grandma's funeral, my mom insisted that I start reading the book grandma gave to me. I was a little reluctant, because of how big it was, but I started reading it anyway.
One night, I decided to flip through the pages. half way through the book, I found that the pages were blank. I went back and looked again. I found the first plank page and discovered a letter in between the pages.
I pulled it out and opened the sealed envelope. I pulled out the piece of pager inside the envelope and read it. It said:
My dearest Kyi,
I gave you these secrets of time because, not to defend your self, because I found you worthy of them. I've known many great magicians in my time, but none have had the potential you do. You will do great things. I believe in you, Kyi, don't you ever doubt that.
I have left the rest of this book blank, because I know you need somewhere to put all the great discoveries you are going to make. You are a brilliant magician, Kyi. You will defeat this fear creature, but remember, nothing in this world is free. His defeat will come at a prise.
I love you, Kyi. You are my grandson and the most wonderful person I have ever encountered. I have faith in you. You will do great things. Remember what I told you at you father's funeral, death is never the answer. You are stronger than that. I love you, Kyi.
Love,
Great Grandma Diana
I folded the letter and put it in the top drawer of my night stand. I pondered her words for a while.
"Nothing in this word is free?" I whispered to myself.
I got an idea. I turned and pulled the letter out again and looked at the top right corned. there was a date, the date that the letter was written. November 15, 1812. This letter is two hundred years old. She saw all this two hundred years before it happened, and didn't try to change anything. If she didn't change anything, then there must be a happy ending to this story. If there was anything Great grandma hated most, it was a story that didn't have a happy ending.
"His defeat will come at a prise." I whispered to myself.
What was that prise? My thoughts were interrupted by someone knocking on the door.
"Come in." I said putting the letter in the book and closing the book. Daylon opened the door and walked into the room as silently as he could.
"Hey," I said sitting up.
"Hey," he replied sitting next to me. We sat there in silence for a while.
"I just wanted to see if you were okay, you know after what you've been through." Daylon said breaking the silence.
"I'm fine," I lied. Daylon looked at me closely and saw through my lie.
"No your not, what's bothering you?" He asked looking into my eyes.
I sighed and open the book again. I pulled out the letter and handed it to him. He read it then looked at it with a puzzled look.
"What does she mean by 'His defeat will come with a prise'?" He asked reading the letter again.
"I have no idea, but it can't be good." I said as he handed me the letter.
"What ever this 'prise' is, I would pay it." Daylon said with a kind smile.
"Even if it was your life?" I asked.
"Yes," He said his smile fading a bit.
"Really? You'd die for me?" I asked.
"Of course. I would die for you. I love you." He said putting his arms around me.
I sat here for a while, wrapped in his arms. I felt save in his arms. I rested my head on his shoulder and fell a sleep.

A loud thud woke me. I looked around the room. I was still wrapped in Daylons arms. he was still here?
Another loud thud came from down stairs. I sat right up. Surprisingly, Daylon didn't wake up. I shook him but he stayed sleeping.
"Daylon." I whispered right in his ear to try and get him to wake.
Suddenly, a strange smell hit my nose. The smell was like morning glories. I realized right away what it was, it was a sleeping spell. A strong one too.
I put out my hand and said, "Hexirem tortem." My voice echoed as if we were in a cave. A golden light leaked from my fingers and Daylon instantly woke.
"What?" He asked sitting up. I quickly put my hand over his mouth and raised my finger to my lips.
"Be quiet. It's here." I whispered. I pulled my hand away from his mouth and went to my night stand. I open up one of the drawers and pulled out the long silver dagger in it.
I turned around and discovered that Daylon was gone.
"Daylon?" I called out quietly.
"Looking for this?" A raspy voice said from the door way.
In the door way was the man from the park, and in his hand was Daylon, bound tightly with ropes and gaged.
"Let him go, he has nothing to do with this." I growled.
"No on the contrary, he is fully involved in this." The man hissed with a wicked smile.
"Why?" I asked.
"Oh, cause he is your last bit of hope left. So I must crash it." He said widening his smile.
Suddenly an obsidian knife appeared in his hand and he held it up to Daylon neck. a look of utter panic came on Daylons face, and his eyes filled with tears.
"Let him go!" I commanded raising the dagger. The dagger began to glow with a pearly white light and the man hissed in disgust.
"That acursed blade." The man hissed. the a sly smile crept on to the man's face.
"Tell you what, I set him free if you drop the knife." The man bargained. I thought for a second then nodded.
"I'll drop the Dagger when you releas him." I said not lowering the dagger on bit.
The man smile wickedly, then snapped his fingers and Daylon bonds materialized into mist. I dropped the knife to the floor.
"Bad idea." The man hissed. Suddenly the human from melted and was replaced with a demon. It had pitch black, leathery skin, glowing red eyes, claws as long and sharp as daggers, and fangs that looked like they could go through steel.
The thing lunged at me and pinned me to the ground.
"This time I'll make sure you dead." The thing hissed. It's voice was half human half demon.
The deamon suddenly screamed out in pain. the thing reach behind him and pulled something out of his back. It was a glowing silver dagger.
The thing whipped around to face the person who had stabbed him, Daylon.
"Foolish mortal, you will pay for that." The thing growled. It wrapped it's long fingers around Daylons neck. Then with his other hand drove five dagger like claws into Daylon's gut.
Time seem to slow. The thing slowly pulled it's claw from Daylon's body and let his lifeless body fall to the ground.
"NO!!!!!" I screamed out of pure anger.
MY body began to glow with the same pearly white light as the dagger. The thing stepped back, eyes wide with fear.
"Ahk mamid orta, aritona seera." I screamed, not even knowing what the spell would do.
I thrust my hand out towards the beast and the room erupted in white light. When the light died, nothing was left on the creature. My eyes still glowing with white light, I turn to Daylon.
He lay there on the ground, motionless, dead.
