Two Weeks Later - At Home

Their apartment had changed a little-ramps, wider spaces, a hospital bed in the corner. But the warmth remained the same.

Jimin stood at the stove, humming as he stirred soup. Behind him, Jungkook wheeled himself slowly into the kitchen.

"Smells good."

"You're not supposed to be out of bed yet."

"I missed you."

Jimin smiled, turning around and crouching to Jungkook's level. "I'm literally ten feet away."

"Too far."

Jimin leaned forward and kissed him. "Better?"

"Still too far."

Jimin chuckled. "You're clingy."

"I'm in love."

They both smiled.

---

One night, The power flickered as thunder rumbled in the distance. Jimin lit a candle on the bedside table, bathing the room in soft amber light.

Jungkook lay on the bed, his hands limp on his lap, eyes distant.

Jimin crawled beside him, resting his cheek on Jungkook's shoulder.

"Do you ever... feel angry?" Jungkook asked, voice quiet.

Jimin was silent for a beat. "At the world? Yes. At fate? Sometimes."

"Do you ever wish you hadn't met me?"

Jimin's head snapped up. "What?"

"I'm not the same person anymore, Jimin."

"Good," Jimin said firmly. "Because now you see how strong you are."

"Do you... ever get scared?" Jungkook asked softly.

Jimin looked up. "Of what?"

"That one day... you'll get tired of this. Of me. This version of me."

Jimin's voice trembled. "Don't say that. I didn't fall for your legs, Jungkook. I fell for your heart. Your laughter. The way you held me when I was scared."

Jungkook shut his eyes, chest rising deeply.

"I just want to be enough for you."

"You are," Jimin said, placing his palm over Jungkook's heart. "Always have been."

They kissed gently, slowly-healing in each other's arms.

___

Another evening, Jimin danced in the living room, holding a mop as he dramatically lip-synced to a random K-pop song on TV.

Jungkook wheeled himself in, chuckling. "You're going viral for this."

"Only if you record it," Jimin said, spinning around and dropping to his knees in front of him. "Sir Jeon Jungkook, will you be my duet partner?"

"I can't sing."

"You can't run either. Doesn't stop you from stealing hearts."

Jungkook laughed so hard, his chest hurt. "You're so cheesy."

"You love it."

He leaned down and kissed Jungkook sweetly on the nose. "Now say you love me too."

"I love you too, Jimin. Always."

That evening, they made a blanket fort in the living room.

Jimin lay with his head resting on Jungkook's chest, listening to his heartbeat. Jungkook stroked his hair gently.

"Promise me we'll be okay?" Jungkook asked softly.

"I promise," Jimin whispered. "No matter what happens. We'll learn new ways to dance, to dream, to love."

Jungkook kissed the top of his head.

"I don't deserve you."

"Then earn me every day," Jimin said, lifting his chin to look into his eyes. "And I'll earn you."

They kissed-slow, tender, warm-and the stars outside couldn't compare to the light between them.

___

It had been a quiet week.

Jungkook had started to feel the weight of stillness. The walls of the house were starting to feel closer, heavier. His therapist had mentioned mood drops were normal in recovery-but that didn't make it any easier.

One lazy Saturday afternoon, Jimin stood in front of him with a mysterious glint in his eyes.

"Go take a shower," Jimin said, hands on his hips.

"Huh?"

"Wear something warm. Cozy. I'm kidnapping you."

"Kidnapping me?" Jungkook blinked.

Jimin leaned in, his smile mischievous. "You trust me, right?"

"With my life."

"Good," Jimin said, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Then no more questions. I'll be your legs today."

They drove for a while in a rented van that Jimin had modified with help from a friend so Jungkook could get in easily.

Jungkook peeked out the window, curious. "Where are we going?"

"Patience," Jimin sang, squeezing his hand. "You'll love it. Promise."

As the sun dipped toward the horizon, the van turned off a narrow road and stopped in a wide clearing near a forest's edge. The sky was brushed with gold and lavender.

Jungkook looked around. "Where are we?"

"Come see."

Jimin wheeled him out, and Jungkook's breath caught.

In the center of the clearing was a large wooden platform, wrapped in fairy lights. A low table was placed at the center, surrounded by giant pillows and blankets. On one side, a small portable firepit crackled. On the other, there was a telescope pointed at the sky.

Jimin walked in front of him and extended his hand dramatically. "Welcome to your private forest date and star gazing romantic festival."

Jungkook's mouth opened and closed.

"You did this... for me?"

"For us," Jimin corrected. "But mostly for you. You've been cooped up for too long. I wanted to show you that the world is still beautiful. And it's still yours."
