"Liv!" I whisper trying to get her attention standing across the hall the next morning, her door is wide open and I call her name multiple times but she doesn't hear me "hey! Liv!" I bark and she turns from her mirror "come here stupid" rolling her eyes she throws the clothes she's been staring at in the mirror on her bed and walk towards me.

"What do you want! I have to pick an outfit for tomorrow" walking close enough I yank her to my room shutting the door and locking it "what the hell Mitch!" She stumbles in my room

"Shush and listen! Jax came back last night-" I whisper

"Duh! Wait is that a question?"

"No just listen! Jax came back last night and we kinda..." I signal with my face without making any sounds

She gasps "OH MY GOSH!" Yelling "you told him!"

"Shut up Liv!" I run to her covering her mouth "stop" she shakes her head and throw her hands up

"I'm sorry" she whisper as soon as I move my hand. She starts to quietly jump excitedly "this is amazing! How'd it happen tell me everything!" She jumps on my bed

"Mitchell!" I hear my mom coming down the hall

"Don't tell mom and dad anything!" I quickly say before she gets to my door, locking her lips and throwing away the key Liv stands from my bed

"Olivia I'm gonna make breakfast get your butts down to the kitchen!" She yells walking past our rooms heading towards the stairs. Opening the door Liv and I follow her to the kitchen "good morning my babies" she turns around smiling when we get to the kitchen

"Morning" I greet her walking to the fridge

"We're not babies" Liv retorts sitting at the table.

"You're my babies!" She teases Liv. "So Mitch" my mom starts as she gets the pan out "Jax is back" Liv flashes me a look, why'd I have to tell her? Liv can't can't keep anything a secret.

"I know mom" I reply

"Are you going to see him?"

"Maybe I don't know"

"Well what's the plan?" She asks as she pulls things from the fridge

"I don't know mom. I'm not hungry I'm gonna go"

"Alright..." she watches as I walk to the door "don't stay out too late!" My mom yells as I shut the front door behind me.

"Hi" Jax smiles opening his door

"Hi" I reply. Shutting his door he walks out, we face each other and he stands in front of me afraid to kiss me. "What?" I ask as he reluctantly move closer

"I really want to kiss you but I'm afraid" he moves back

"Afraid of what?"

"Umm afraid that you..." he doesn't finish and I catch on

"You're afraid that I'd change my mind?" He nods "Jax why-" instead of explaining to him I stop talking mid sentence and move in to his lips. Kissing him I wrap an arm around his waist to hold him closer as our lips move in and out around each other's. Finally pulling away "I'm not going to change my mind"

"Promise?"

"Yes now come on" I take his hand pulling him from his doorstep. "So where's Summer?" I ask as we get in my car

"According to her snapchat she's taking a froyo break from shopping, Shana and Mel are with her" the girls she usually hangs out with at school. 

I'm driving to the mall now "I know you're mad at her so if you want me to do the talking I will"

"I honestly don't even want to do any of this, Summer's a bitch and I'm done with her, why can't we spend our day with each other instead of wasting it on her?"

"Because, she's your best friend and you guys shouldn't be fighting"

"We fight all the time Mitch" he takes a pause then asks "why is this so important to you?"

"I struggled with telling you how I feel, but everyone I talked to about it all told me to tell you, including Summer. She wasn't excited about it but she wanted me to tell you even though I'm her ex and it meant losing you to me. Summer acts tough Jax but I don't think there's anyone she cares about more than you, and if Summer doesn't have me I want her to have someone she'll trust." I stop talking and wait for Jax to reply but he doesn't, taking quick glances at him as I'm driving I see him staring at me "what?"

"I love you so much" he reaches his hand out grabbing my free hand.

Locking his fingers in mine I move his hand up to my face and gently kiss his hand "I love you too."

"Don't worry about Summer, no matter how much she pisses me off she could never be out of my life."

We get to the mall and leave the parking lot. Heading towards the frozen yogurt place Summer and Jax likes to go to, we see her and her friends sitting at a table laughing. We walk in together and Summer sees us walking her way "aren't you guys cute together" she smiles and her friends turn around to see us

"Jax!" Shanna jumps out of her seat "I was just asking Summer about you! How are you?!" She practically attacks Jax with a hug

"Hey Shana I'm great" he gets out of the awkward hug "I can't wait to catch up with you guys but would you mind giving Summer and I some time to talk?"

As they're getting up Summer says "whatever you have to say you can say in front of them, I'm gonna end up telling them anyways" she throws those same words at him that she throws to everyone else about him.

Pulling out a chair he sits across from her "why are you being such a bitch?" He didn't even think twice about it

"We're gonna go, we'll meet you upstairs Summer, text me Jax" they quickly walk away leaving us alone.

"I'm your best friend so I'm supposed to know what's wrong but I can't figure this out, you're being awful and I'm legit on the verge of never speaking to you again"

"Let me guess you put him up to this?" She looks at me asking. Shaking her head she smiles "I always knew it! Deep down I feel like I always knew how you felt about him"

"This has nothing to do with Mitch Summer, this is between us"

"This has everything to do with Mitch! Jax you're dating my boyfriend!"

"Ex-" Jax corrects her

"Oh fuck you Jax!" Her temper rises but she quickly calms down "I'm not doing this here, I'm not letting you guys ruin the mall for me again" getting up she walks away.

Jax gets up and turns to me who's been standing behind him the whole time "what do we do?" I ask

"I'm gonna follow her"

"Ok come on" I start to walk but Jax grabs my hand

"I have to do this alone Mitch, she's never going to tell me how she really feels with you around"

"You're right, I'll go wait in my car find me when you're done or call if you need my help"

"I will" he goes to kiss me but stops, I don't know if it's the fact that we're in a public place or maybe he's still afraid to kiss me but he doesn't and just walks away instead.
