Billy's P.O.V.

“Mom.” I said, suddenly losing the ability to breath.  My mom was staring at me and my boyfriend tangled up in each other after a long night of sexy fun time.  We were naked. Wait, we were naked. I looked down and found a sheet and covered us both up. I was praying my mom didn’t see anything. “Spencer, wake up.”  I whispered, frantically. He moaned, smiling. He looked so adorable right now but this was no time to be focused on that. My mom walked in on me and Spencer. My parents had no idea that I was gay. They thought I was straight as an arrow.

“What, baby?” He whispered, kissing my shoulders. My cheeks were flaming now.

“Spencer, stop.” I pleaded, so embarrassed.

“Why?” He said, in between kisses.

“Spencer, my mom.” I pleaded, surprised that my face hadn’t melted from how hot it was. Spencer pulled away, his beautiful blue eyes wide as saucers. He looked up at my mom frozen in place. I saw the wheels slowly start to turn. He clutched the sheet and pulled it up closer to him. His face was as red as mine felt.

“Mom.” I said, unable to find anything else to say. She was staring at me with those pale green eyes in shock. Oh, God. This wasn’t how they were supposed to find out. I was going to have a nice, normal conversation over dinner, introducing them to Spencer. Mom wasn’t supposed to walk in on me with him. How could it get any worse? My question was answered. Dad walked in.

“Get up, Bi-“He stared at me and then at Spencer. The realization hitting him, made me look down almost in shame.

“What’s going on?” He asked. I didn’t say anything. I just kept my eyes glued down to the sheet, covering me and Spencer up.

“I’m dating your son.” Spencer said, his voice not trembling like mine would. I looked up at him, shocked. He was always so nervous and soft-spoken, especially towards adults. Now he was confident and hot. Man, I was fucked up right now.

“Um… dear, come down to the kitchen and we’ll talk.” Mom said, her voice trembled. Was she ashamed of me? Did she not accept me anymore? What if she didn’t? What if my dad didn’t? How could I deal with them not accepting me? They were my parents. Not very good ones but still parents. I nodded. They left. My father looked us up and down before he left. I was shaking, scared. I was more scared than I had ever been in my life.

“It’s alright.” Spencer whispered, wrapping me close to him. Well even more close than what we already were.

“What if they don’t love me anymore?” I asked, laying my head against his bare chest.

“They love you, Billy no matter what.” Spencer promised me. I wasn’t so sure. “Anyways they haven’t threatened to kill you yet so you’re doing well.” I looked up at him. He was trying to make me smile but was failing miserably. I still appreciated it though. I kissed him, gently on the lips.

“They are waiting for us.” I said, after I pulled away. He nodded, understanding. We started to find our clothes. I could hear him getting dressed behind me. I guess he found his clothes. As for me, all I could find was my boxers. “Where are my clothes?” He shrugged his shoulders and started looking in all the same places I did.

“Crap, Spencer. I already looked there.” I complained. “I can’t go down in my boxers.” My face grew hot at the thought of that.

“It’s more clothing than before.” Spencer said. Through my annoyance and fear, I smiled at him. It was true. I slid them on. He held out his hand. I took it, giving his warm, strong hand a tight squeeze. We went down to the kitchen.

My parents were sitting down at a round, oak table. They were both talking a hush whisper. Mom had tears in her eyes. That killed me. Spencer and I sat down in between them.

“Mom, Dad this isn’t how I wanted y’all to find out.” I said, breaking the tense silence. “But, I love Spencer and he is my boyfriend.” Spencer looked at me, a smile forming on his lips. He squeezed my hand.

“How long is this going on?” Mom asked.

“A month.” I told her.

“Do you love him?” Mom asked Spencer.

“Til’ the day I die.” Spencer told her. I felt my heart swell at those words. Mom seemed pleased with that. Her tears seemed to be happy now. Dad just stayed silent. I looked up to him for words for something for him to do.

“Are you happy, son?” He asked, finally speaking.

“Very, sir.” It was the truth. My parents didn’t hate me. Spencer, the love of my life, was sitting next to me. Our future was ahead of us. Before I was scared, no one would love me or accept me and that I would die after living a miserable life. Now, I knew that it was going to be great because I knew with all my heart  Spencer was going to be in it.

“Good.” Dad said, nodding his head. “Now put some clothes on. You have to get to work.” Yep, that was my dad. All soft one moment and the next talking like it never happened.

“Alright.” I said, finally able to breath normally again. Spencer and I got up and went upstairs. When the door closed, Spencer wrapped me in his arms.

“I love you so much.”  He whispered into my ear.

“I love you too.” I said, smiling.

“Now, let’s get you dressed.” He smiled, flirty. Clothes seemed like a shame at the moment with that smile of his. After I found some clothes, he helped me get dressed.

“After work, we are talking to your grandparents.” I told Spencer as we walked to the store.

“What?” He asked, shocked.

“Yep. No getting out of it.” I beamed. He rolled his eyes and agreed. I was surprised he didn’t argue more. The rest of the walk, we talked about how we were going to tell his grandparents. We decided we would wait til dinner and tell them then. Neither of us saw them reacting badly to our news. With our plan, we went inside the store.

The day went by surprisingly fast. We were really busy which sucked because I didn’t get to see Spencer most of the day. I only saw him at lunch and then at dinner. Dinner was by far the most nerve-racking part. I knew they wouldn’t be angry or hate us but why was I so nervous? They were so accepting and loving. It was going to be fine. Geez, I was acting just like Spencer. Always worrying. That thought made me laugh. Spencer gave me a weird look.

“Go time.”  I whispered, changing the subject. He nodded.

“Um…I have something to tell y’all.” Spencer said, breaking the on-going conversation. Mrs. Hartman and Mr. Hartman stopped their conversation and looked at him, shocked.

“Yes, son?” Mr. Hartman asked.

“Is something wrong?” Mrs. Hartman asked, concerned.

“No, not at all.” Spencer reassured them. “It’s just me and Billy are dating.” I choked on my drink, not expecting him to blurt it out so quickly.

“Aw…that’s wonderful, dears.” Mrs. Hartman exclaimed, clapping her hands together. Mr. Hartman nodded in agreement.

Whew. Thank you, God, for our families being so loving and accepting. I grabbed Spencer’s hand that was resting on the table and squeezed it. He smiled at me with those big blue orbs and my heart, my world just stopped.
