Calder woke in the morning sated and warm.

He was laying down, probably due to the large man that had him cuddled to his body.

Hemming's chest was what Calder saw the moment he opened his eyes. It was slowly rising and falling with the mans breaths, and Calder could not help the urge to place his hand there just to feel it.

Calder felt the wolf's heartbeat, slow and steady as he slept.

Calder's head was resting on the mans bicep, and Hemming's own head was on a rolled up blanket; most likely Calder's one that he did not use.

He stared at his mate unabashedly, taking in the mans beauty and masculine features. Calder removed his hand from Hemming's chest in order to grab onto a small braid nestled in the wolf's untamed beard.

"Thinking of growing your own?"

Calder giggled as Hemming sleepily whispered with his eyes still shut.

"I do not grow a lot of body hair. I could never get stubble, let alone a beard like yours." Calder whispered back and twisted the longer part of the hair around his finger.

Hemming only hummed and let Calder continue the touch with a small smile.

Calder eventually brought his other hand forward and put both of his palms against the others jaw. It would not take much to lower the man down to him and steal a kiss.

Calder let out a breath before doing just that; he was sure that Hemming would not mind.

Hemming's lips were warm against his own, and immediately responded to Calder's movements.

Calder's heart was thrumming happily against his ribcage, his face flushing a slight pink as he moved against Hemming's lips.

It did not go far, and only barely lasted long enough for Calder to feel Hemming's beard and mustache start to tickle his face.

Calder smiled and backed away, staring up at Hemming with joy; Hemming opened his eyes to return the look and smile.

"My handsome wolf." Calder cooed and rubbed a thumb against the mans cheekbone, leaning forward to give Hemming a last peck on the lips before removing his hands and sitting up.

The rest of the pack was sleeping; no doubt glad that they could sleep in now that they had arrived and could afford to catch up in their sleep.

Calder stood up and stretched, his joints popping loudly as he sighed.

He gave a smile towards Hemming, who was sitting up, before Calder was walking off towards a tree to take a piss.

Calder could feel that he was home. He could feel the ocean in the back of his mind and his pack before his eyes. Everything felt so much calmer in his mind.

He would need to explain to them what had happened while he was at sea, but he needed to think of what to say first.

Would he say he was a god first? Or tell them about the prophecy about Thor and Frigg and Loki? He supposed it would be best to start by explaining what had happened from the beginning.

Calder would tell them in order what he had learned; so that they received the story same as him.

Calder hummed as he walked back to the fire, a little tune stuck in his throat that he had never heard before. Hemming was still the only one awake, though he was holding Eira and talking so soft that Calder could not hear.

The man looked up as Calder returned, and whispered something to the babe that made her giggle in his arms; Calder had a sneaking suspicion that it was about him.

"She woke as soon as you left." Hemming said with a grin.

"That is because she knows what I am and knows that we are connected." Calder cooed sweetly and placed a kiss to the young goddesses forehead.

"So, you did find your answers?"

Hemming directed his attention to Calder with a questioning glance.

"Most of them, yes. Though, I wish to wait until everyone is awake; it would take a long time to explain it over and over again." Calder chuckled and sat next to his mate, leaning against his right side and placing a hand to Eira's chest just to feel the babes heartbeat; similar to what he did to Hemming.

The babe babbled and smacked her hand down on Calder's, grabbing for his fingers and eventually grasping onto his pointer.

Calder and Hemming did wait for everyone to wake and while they did, Hemming passed Eira to Calder and began preparing a stew for breakfast.

Lagina had almost immediately woke when Hemming accidentally clanged a metal spit against a pot too loudly. She seemed to not care much that she had been pulled from her slumber and instead stood, shook out her coat- she really did prefer to sleep as a wolf- and walked off into the forest.

Hemming did not mind this and turned his attention to chopping a few potatoes with a knife in his palm.

When Eira had begun fussing, Calder had no choice but to wake Padma, who tiredly chuckled and took the babe in order to go change her with the ocean water.

Calder watched as everyone steadily woke to the smell of stew filling the air; Calder felt his stomach growl at the scent, even though he was the only one that would likely enjoy it the most.

There was no fresh meat to put in it, only dried and salted traveling venison and ox; Hemming had said that the pack would go hunting after they claimed the land and settled into the new spot.

Even though there was no meat, Calder was not a wolf and would be perfectly happy with just some potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms in some salted broth.

Halina was the last to wake, with brunette hair wild and messy when she sat up sleepily.

Hemming dished out everyone a bowl of stew, and settled next to Calder to eat his own when he finished. Calder ate his quickly and hummed pleasantly at the taste as he devoured the food.

He had been done for only a few minutes when Lagina returned with a bloodstained muzzle, grabbing her clothes with her teeth before walking off towards the sea.

She returned fully dressed and free of any blood, hair wet and dripping against her tunic; Calder thought that he might want to talk to her about her habits sometime out of curiosity.

"So then, are you going to tell us what we have been dying to know for the past week?"

Halina was the one who finally brought it up, clapping her hands together and sending a teasing smile towards Calder.

"I suppose I can... though, I need everyone to keep an open mind. Just, please do not look at me any different?" Calder asked and sat back on his legs.

Everyone nodded, and Calder inhaled deeply; why was he so nervous?

"When I went out there, there was a voice. It was my father, and he told me what I am and what I am meant to do." Calder started and clasped his hands onto his thighs.

He looked out at the packs faces before beginning again, finally taking the plunge.

"He told me my parents are Njörð and Lofn. He told me I am a god, and that him and my mother could not keep me because Lofn was not married; it would be shameful for her to have a bastard child as an unmarried goddess.

"My father also told me that this was a prophecy foretold by the Norns. That I was meant to be raised by humans and reunite with the sea. The old gods are returning, and my father states that I am the one who has to keep Thor and Loki from fighting.

"Thor is a child at the moment; he is at a village three days north of here. Odin has returned, but I do not know where he is. Frigg is also a child... a babe. She is- she will not remember her nature until she is older. Frigg is Eira."

Calder watched Padma and Hale carefully, taking in their confused and surprised faces.

"She will still know that you are her parents, the love that you will give her will not change on account of her being a goddess." Calder said sympathetically and tried to keep his tone strong.

Padma looked down the babe in their arms and nodded. Hale only looked to his mate and child for a second before nodding to Calder to continue.

"He said that Loki will be born in the presence of Frigg; that someone from the pack will bear him. Loki will be raised correctly and by the time he is old enough to remember, his love for whoever raised him will have to be enough for him to not want to go after Thor. This will stop the cycle of violence.

"This was all bound to happen the second that Hemming saved me; he was the one who put my... realizations, into motion. My mate was always meant to bring me home to the ocean and I was born to stop Thor and Loki from fighting."

There were no words or questions for a while after that; there was only silence as everyone took in the new information.

Calder look to Halina and Lagina for any anger or confusion at the chance that they will be the ones getting pregnant. Though, seeing as he was the one with the mate, he had a suspicion that it was to be him.

When Lagina finally let out a huff, Calder looked to her quickly.

"I will not be bearing children any time soon." She said with a face that very clearly stated that it was a fact.

"So it has to be me? I do not even have a mate." Halina cried out with a confused scrunch of her face.

Calder blushed and avoiding looking at any of the wolves.

"Well, you or- you or me." He got out and exhaled slowly while staring at the fire.

"You?" Halina choked and pointed a questioning finger towards Calder.

"Ah, Yes? My father said that since my mother is the goddess of forbidden love, that I can change my body to love in any way. I suppose this means that I can bear children so that there are more people to love." Calder said and rubbed his palms against his trousers.

"Well that seems more likely than me bearing a child." Halina scoffed kindly, and sighed out like she was relieved she would not have to carry a child.

"What if Loki still wishes to fight Thor?" Nadir called from next to Hemming; meaning that Calder had to look past his mate to look at the other wolf.

Calder ignored the dazed look that Hemming had on as he looked off into the forest, and instead looked to Nadir.

"He will be weaker than me. My father said that if it comes to it, I might have to defeat him in a fight of some sort. I might have to kill him." Calder frowned deeply; he could not imagine being able to kill his own child. "I doubt it will come to that. This pack will raise him right, and when he is older he will see no point in continuing to hurt the other gods."

"Including you? You are a god, after all." Hemming had finally spoken. "What of you? Will you leave us in Midgard when this is over?"

Calder exhaled sharply and sent a look towards his mate.

"I told you I would not leave. That does not change just because we found the answers we were looking for. There is nothing for me with the other gods; when they learn of who I was birthed from, they will never accept me as one of them."

Hemming nodded and scrubbed a hand against his face with a sigh.

"We have time? Until... Until action is required?"

Calder looked at Hemming with a slight blush.

"Yes. Yes, I believe as much time as we need. There is no rush." Calder said with slight shake of his head and smile; this was partly because he did not want to make Hemming think they would have to have a child immediately.

"Then, we have a house to build." Hemming smiled softly and nodded to his pack, who all agreed and stood.

Calder sighed in relief and slightly slumped his shoulders; he wanted to swim.

He watched as all the others started busting themselves with other things, Eira not included as she slept shrouded in furs next to Calder.

Hemming had also stayed behind and Calder exhaled nervously when Hemming turned to face the god.

"We should probably talk."
