It's gonna go back and forth between two different scenes so pay attention to that.
A silent drive through the woods and back on the main road. Empty hearts and tear stained faces. They drove to the sheriff station, knowing they'd have to tell Stiles' father. After finding that the sheriff wasn't there, they made their way to the Stilinski house hold. The drive gave them a little more time to think about what to say. But the drive seemed much shorter than it usually would be. Stiles' body laid out in the back seats, his head on Scott's lap and fingers raking gently through whiskey brown hair.
You're not dead. I know you're not dead. You can't be. But they won't listen to me. They don't know what I know. They wouldn't believe me if I tried to tell them. They're not as optimistic as we are.
Slowly parking in the driveway of the Stilinski house, it took Scott moments to move a single muscle. He didn't want to face Mr. Stilinski. Didn't want to see the pain that'll be on his face. He already lost his wife and could be loosing his son too. They already knew he'll be the most heart broken. He didn't deserve that. Scott sighed and climbed out the car lifting Stiles after him.
"He's not dead," he said aloud. They turned their head to him.
"Scott, yes he is. He died right in front of us. Do you hear a heart beat?" Allios spoke. She didn't want to be so harsh, but it wasn't getting through to him. Scott shook his head. "Then he's gone Scott, I'm sorry," he had slight anger at her for not believing him, but he knew yelling at her wasn't going to solve anything.
I know your not dead. Please hear me.
Only looking at the house in front of him and he froze. He couldn't do it. Couldn't face the man and tell him his son was dead; as much as he didn't believe it. Couldn't walk into the house that he had so many memories with the boy. Memories of when they were kids and just the best of friends, brothers to them as boyfriend's. Scott fell to him knees, breaking down in tears.
"I can't," he cried, tears falling on Stiles bloddied shirt. "I can't go in there," he was so weak, his heart shredded apart.
"I know Scott. I know it hurts, but we have to do this," Lydia bent to eye level with Scott, tears falling from her own eyes. She lifted his chin with her fingers to look at him.
"You can do this. I know you can," Scott shook his head in denial but stood anyways. Slow steps to the porch. They were all there. Malia, Liam, Derek, Lydia, Malia, and Kira. Allison knocked lightly on the door and waited for the adult to open the door. Moments later he did and saw all the sorrowful faces on the teens. But didn't see his own son.
"Where's Stiles?" Alliosn stepped aside to show Scott with Stiles in his arms.
"Is he...?" Scott nodded, a fresh new set of tears down his face. Stilinski's face broke their hearts. They walked in going to the living room, Scott gently set Stiles down on the couch. Stilinski followed to the room seen his busted up son. Dead.
"No. No!" Stilinski nearly fell, but Scott as there to catch him. "What happened! What happened!" He screamed.
"I'm so sorry. I'm sorry," Scott said to him. He walked over to his son kneeling in front of him. He cupped the boys face in his hands. He was cold and pale.
"Oh god. Not you too,"
--
Whiskey eyes shot open and gasped as he sat up. All around him it was white.
Where am it? What happened? He thought to himself. His head was pounding, and back ached.
"Hello!? Is anyone here?!" he looked around but there was no one.
"Stiles?" A soft voice spoke his name. Stiles spun around to see the one person he thought he'd never see again.
His mother.
"Mom?" Tears in his eyes as he saw her. He hasn't seen her in nearly 10 years. Barely even remembered her face.
"Stiles what are you doing here?! It's not your time yet. You're not supposed to be here. What happened?" she shrieked.
"What? Where am I?"
"Your dead stiles," she told him. His heart sunk. Dead? But how?
"What happened to you Stiles?"
"I... I destroyed hell Ma," Claudia furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "I'm not human anymore,"
"What do you mean your not human. What are you?" Her heart pounded she was scared. Stiles paused hesitant to answer. He didn't want her to run away he just got back to her.
"I'm a Nogitsune werefox, Mom," he said slowly. He lowered his head thinking she would be mad. There was a long pause as this information processed in Claudia.
"Can you show me?" she asked finally. Stiles was surprised by this. He wasn't expecting any of this, didn't have a plan for it.
"You sure?" Claudia nodded, mentally preparing herself for it. With a deep breath Stiles shined his bright purple eyes, fangs, and full transformation with it. Claudia was in awe seeing her son like this.
"Wow..." she reached her hand up to touch his face. Fingers moving with the bumpy area on his brows.
"It's okay. I'm not mad."
"Your not," she shook her head a small smile on her face. A smile. Stiles hadn't seen that smile in so long and he missed it so much.
--
"What are you going to do with him," Scott asked Noah that was sitting in a chair next to Stiles. Though he didn't want him to do anything with him. It was such a feeling he couldn't explain he didn't want anything to happen. Scott still believed he wasn't dead.
"Im going to give him a proper burial. It's what he deserves," Noah replied.
"No!" Came Lydia's voice. They all looked at her with bewilderment.
"What?" The tone was a little angered when he looked to her.
"Please listen to me. This is going to sound so freaking crazy, and I know you're not going to believe me," she paused waited till they were ready to listen.
"Stiles isn't dead," they gave unbelieving looks. How could he not be dead. He's right in front of them not breathing.
"Of course he's dead. Don't you see him right there? He's cold and pale, not to mention not breathing!" Came the sheriff. Lydia flinch a little at his harsh tone, but he had every right to feel any way he wanted to. His son was dead for fucks sake! He's broken.
"I know it doesn't make any sense and it really doesn't. But I would've known before hand. They didn't tell me he was going to die. They only told me one of us is going to change was going to change but didn't tell me who it was," they came to that realization. It all made sense now. Lydia didn't scream when he died. Nor did she say that something bad was going to happen or one of them was going to die. Everything that happened in the woods went according to plan. But was the death really necessary. Scott stood and hugged Lydia. She was the only one that believed him.
"Thank you for believing me," he whispered in her ear. Lydia nodded on his shoulder.
"Of course. I always believe," she smiled over his shoulder although he couldn't see it.
"I knew he wasn't dead. He doesn't feel dead," demented eyes stared at him and a few tilted their heads. "I can't explain it but he doesn't," Scott turned to stare at the body, trying to see any type of change. He may have looked dead and felt dead...but he wasn't dead.
"Look, his body isn't even decaying. It takes 7 minutes for a dead body to start smelling. He's not gone,"
--
Stiles hugged his mom. He could touch her. He could feel her. He hasn't realised how much he really missed her till then. Missed her so much he started crying. Breaking down in sobs. It really hit him that she was gone, but he has her now and he wanted that forever.
"God, I missed you so much," sniffling as he pulled away.
"I miss you too baby," rubbed her thumb on his cheek wiping away the tears. Stiles closed his eyes, savoring her soft touch, he hadn't felt in so long. She wiped away his cheek like he used to do with he was little taking him back to the times when he was younger.
"But it's not your time. You have to go back," she told him.
"What? No I don't want to go back. I want to stay here. With you," his heart was breaking. Having to leave his mom? That was the last thing he wanted to do right now.
"What about your dad? How do think he feels right now? He's heart broken. I left him, you can't leave him alone down there too. He needs you more than you think," she told him. Stiles licked him lips then sighed while wiping away tears.
"He needs you to help watch what he eats and how much he drinks. You're his life line, Stiles,"
"Scot needs you," he rose his head at Scott's name. Scott. He hasn't thought of him. Not a thought of Scott came to his mind while he was with his mom. She was the only one he was focused on. It'd only been a couple of hours but he misses Scott. A lot.
"He needs you and you need him just as much. You're his mate and he's your mate," something jolted in him at that. Mates. They were Mates. They have to be together.
"You need to go back to him," plain sternness in her tone. If anyone was to get through to him in that moment it was her and only her. The mother tine he missed too.
"How do I go back?"
"I don't know Stiles. That's something for you to figure out," how the hell is he supposed to go back if he didn't know how? "Goodbye Stiles I love you so much. Tell your father I love and miss him too," she kised his cheek.
"What? No! You can't lea-," and she was gone right before his eyes. She was gone. He cries, falling to his knees he instantly missed his mom. He wanted her back so bad and she was just with him.
Scott. I miss you so much. I want to come back but I don't know how. I can't be this far from you for this long it hurts too much.
--
He heard his voice. He cried nearly sobbed when he heard that voice.
Stiles? Stiles, can you hear me?.
Scott? Oh god, it's you. Thank God it's you.
I knew you weren't dead
"He's not dead, guys. I can hear him!" His voice was of relief.
"You can hear him? Scott that doesn't make any sense," Noah said running his hands down his face.
"It's true! We have this-this thing. Like a mind link. We talk to each other through our heads. We do it all the time. We never told you because we didn't think you believed us," he explained. They didn't know what to think, almost everything he said was completed nonsense. They knew he was serious but didn't take him seriously.
I want to go home but I don't know how.
Umm, try just focusing on something. Think of me, your dad. All of us. Think about trying to get back to us. Back home.
He sat there with his eyes closed. Thinking about his dad all his friends the great life he had and has to live and how much he wanted to get back to that. He's still got a future. Things he wants to do, places he wants to go. He has his whole life a head of him. He needs to live. Still has to graduate and go to George Washington university. He didn't snoop through his dad's case files and try figuring it out for nothing. Perfect grades in school he wants to keep that up. And he's so young. Decades and decades of life to live. He needs to go on.
That moment of his eyes closed and he felt limp again. The air felt different slightly colder and he was laying on a cushion. His eyes shit open, and he gasped loud as he sat up. He instantly recognized the place as his home and standing in his home were all the people that were with him just hours earlier, plus his father was there. Astound faces stared at him also with relief.
"Stiles?" His father spoke first. Stiles was quick on his feet and through himself at his father, tears in both of their eyes as they collided.
"I saw her Dad. I saw Mom," he whispered. Noah froze at those words.
"How?" Noah asked pulling away from his done but still close to hold.
"I was dead... I died and I saw her. She told me to tell you she loves you and she misses you," the message breaking him down.
"I miss her too," they didn't let for for a long time, tighter if that was possible. They pulled off and Stiles turned going straight to Scott. His arms instantly wrapping around Scott's waist and pulling him to a kiss. Stiles misses the feel and taste of Scott's lips and Scott the same. They were so presses together it's like they were superglued. Like they were going to loose each other if they let go too loose. Missed like they haven't seen each other in years. Well, that's what it felt like. But they won't listen to kept the kiss PG for the people in the room.
"I knew you weren't dead. I just knew it," Scott cried.
"Thank you. I love you so much,"
"I love you too,"
Stiles then threw himself at Allison, who huffed at the large impact. She'd been such a great help. He couldn't have been so greatful for a sister like her.
"Thank you Ally,"
"Anything for my brother," she responded with a smile.
"I'm still going to get you back for slicing my throat," he whispered in her ear them pulled back.
"I know," her smirk was devilish. She'd be ready for anything he threw at her. She always was. After Allison he hugged Lydia, saying he'll get her back too. Kira, syaing thank you for helping him when he was just starting out. Derek, and called him Sourwolf, which he growled at. Malia saying "I missed you kid," and she responded with a chuckle saying I missed you too furball and he rolled his eyes. They had missed each other like they hadn't seen each other in years. It's only been a couple of hours. It was overdramatic really, but let them be they're grind just came back from the dead. Finally to Liam and calling him "my son". Liam pouted and punched his arm.
"Don't scare me like that," the beta pouted. "But I missed you, dad."
"So what, I'm a grandpa now?" Noah joked. A small chorus of laughs and chuckles at the remark. Stiles suddenly felt light headed and wobbled on his feet. Liam was there to keep him balanced and sat him on the couch hence he was right next to him. He planted his head in his hands running at his temples and squeezing his eyes shut. His head was pounding for no reason. Maybe it was still throbbing from hitting the tree. Though that didn't make any sense.
"You okay?" Noah asked sitting next to him squeezing his sons shoulder lightly. Scott had run to the kitchen for a glass of water and was back quickly sitting on the other side of him.
"Yeah, I'm good. It was just a little pain," he opened his eyes again, then took the class of water from his boyfriend. Everyone's eyes went wide. No one knew what to say, barely even know what they were seeing. Looking past the glass on his lips he furrowed his eyebrows at the faces.
"Okay, I know I was dead but I'm not a ghost," he said after finishing the water.
"No Stiles, your eyes," Lydia remarked.
"What, You be all seen my eyes before,"
"No," Scott lifted a hand to touch his face. "They're purple,"
"Purple? Why the hell would they be purple," this kind of freaked Stiles out a little. He stood and rushed for he bathroom standing in the mirror. They were in fact purple. When did this happen? Why did they change? He couldn't change them back to their whisky brown.
"W-what do I do? What's happening to me?!" He was completely freaking out, luckily Scott was by his side to calm him down. Stiles slid down to the floor.
"It's okay. I-I'll call Deaton,"
"Don't bother, he doesn't know much. I don't even know anything," Stiles huffed.
"It's going to be okay. Maybe it's just nothing. Maybe it's just a change from being risen from the dead or something. Maybe they'll change back to orange?" Stiles nodded trying to shake it off. They walked back out to the living room. Stiles eyes were still glowing but nobody was bothered by it. He hugged them each once more, not a reason, not a word why he did that. Taking a step back he just stared at them with a big satisfied sigh.
"I love you guys. So much. So freaking much," a bright smile on his face. They all smiles back but the tiredness in their eyes were inevitable.
"Go home, get some sleep. You've helped me so much, you need a break from me. I'll be olay," they chuckled some at the use of 'olay' instead of 'okay'. Slowly they made there way out the house noe feeling more joyous that their friends was okay.
"You need sleep too," Scott took Stiles upstairs after Stiles hugged his father and said he loved him. Scott did kind of struggle because Stiles wasn't walking all that much putting most of his wait on Scott. Once to the boys room, he slipped off his shoes and bloody clothes before climbing into bed. Scott leaned down to kiss the top of his forehead then began to turn to walk to the door. But stiles wrapped his hand around Scott's wrist.
"Please, stay," Stiles said in a sleepy voice. Scott smiles and took off his own shoes and bloodied clothes slipping in the bed with Stiles. He got his Stiles back. He's glad he didn't have to come to the realization that he was actually dead. Glad that he kept his hope, but that just what Scott McCall does, He's always hopeful for everything. They could finish high school together. Just like they planned of course at some point in their lives they would go separate ways for something, but that time was for later in the furture, that wasn't now.
Now is all that matters.
