(Hyugo's dining room)

I got home and felt refreshed, how spacious it seemed now.

Three maids came rushing up to me, one taking my stuff, the other fixing my hair and clothes, and the third one explaining what is happening. "Sir, your father has been waiting for you. He is in the dining room with dinner ready." I was surprised by this, dad never came home this early and much less wait for someone so he could eat.

"Ok thanks" I said and quickly walked to the dining room. There sat my dad resting his chin on his hands staring at me with cold eyes. "What is wrong father?"

"Hyugo, where have you been?" He said straightening up.

"Um...hanging out with a friend. Why does that matter?" I said trying to figure out why he was acting this way.

"I just got a phone call today about something you told your teacher last week. Since I couldn't speak last week." Oh no, I knew exactly what it was going to be about, I sat down on the chair across the table from him. I can't believe how persistent these teachers can get.

He grabbed his fork and stabbed one of the steaks, "So young man would you care to tell me why you throw a paper ball at the English teacher?" He said his voice low as he looked me in the eyes.

It sent shivers down my spine, "Well in all fairness, I wasn't aiming at him, he just walked in front of the shot," I said matter of factly.

"Then care to explain to me why you threatened the teacher and used my title to blackmail him?" He said aggressively cutting his steak.

I looked down at my twirling fingers that were under the table, "I...I have no real explanation for that." I said with less confidence.

I wouldn't say me and my dad is on bad terms or good terms. It's more of a neutral one, he is like a boss to me, and I joke around a little but not too much.

He didn't say anything after that. So once I finished eating my meal in silence, I ran upstairs and locked my bedroom door, and flopped myself on the bed.

As I was about to fall asleep, I heard a knock on the door. I groaned and said, "Come in". I looked to see who it was and the person who walked through the door made me smile. "Hi mom, I didn't expect you to be here!"

"Well, I can't be leaving my adorable and handsome baby all by himself all the time." She said sweetly. I walked up to her and hugged her.

As you could probably see I am very close to my mom. She knows everything about me and my life. She doesn't treat me like a coworker like my dad usually does. She treats me like a teenaged son, and some people wouldn't want that, but that was mainly my only time to just be myself, a teenager, and not the new possible face of my dad's huge company.

I am not expecting to be an adult or act like one around her, I could just let loose. But she is usually not here all the time since she is a lawyer and doesn't come home very often.

"Aw Hyugo, you look different today?" He said creasing my cheeks in a comforting motion.

"What I do?" I said raising an eyebrow.

"Yes it seems like you did something different than you usually do?" Sometimes this scares me too. How in the world would she know if something in my life had changed, even if it was the slightest too.

"I can't tell you just yet. Can you wait until I'm ready to tell you." I asked since I am not ready to tell her that I am hanging out with a poor person.

From a young age my parents , really my father, told me to not stain our name, so I couldn't hang out with poor people. So I just couldn't let anyone know that I am hanging out with Michael.

I remember that time when it finally became clear to me that father wasn't kidding about staying away from them

~Flashback to when I was 10~

I would wake up in a huge bed in my own room. The room was quiet and lonely the only sound you could hear was my slow breathing. Under me was a bunch of open space that was cold from not being laid on all night. I looked around the room and I was emotionless. This wasn't anything new.

I crawled off the bed and decided to just sit on the floor and stare blankly at the door. I wanted someone, something to come out of that door to bring me joy or at least make me smile.

When was the last time I had smiled? I kept thinking about how boring life is.

Once I took a good 5 minutes just staring at the closed-off door I moved up to my feet again. I crossed my room in my slippers so I wouldn't have to feel the ice old marble flooring. Everything about the room was cold and not welcoming at all.

I went into my walk-in closet and was greeted by a 7-foot mirror. I looked at myself, I was wearing blue silk pajamas. I throw them off on the floor and throw on some random clothes and walked out of the room and into my grand room.

I went into the dining room and sat down, no one was here. Just me, the fancy dining table, and the grand bouquet of flowers in the middle of the table. I looked at my right and saw the usual bell.

I touched it and in a minute, one of my dad's closest butler came in rushing with my favorite breakfast. "Today we are having bacon, avocado, and cheese omelet topped with your favorite sauce." The butler said but, as he was about to leave me alone, and by myself, I stopped him.

"Excuse me?" I said

"Yes?" He said turning around unsure in what I was going to ask him. And me too, I had no idea why I was doing this too.

I played with my utensils as I slowly asked, "Um can you stay and eat with me?"

"I'm sorry young master but, I can't do that." He said with a sad expression

"Why not," I said really wanting him to stay.

His figure stiffened, "Because I am not supposed to." He simply said

"But I'm telling you, you can. So, sit down with me." The waiter looked worried as he looked around but, it was only us two in this huge room alone.

He looked back to me and relaxed his shoulders "Ok fine, only for a little bit though."

"Yay thank you so much," I said finally finding someone to entertain me.

From then on me and the waiter, in which I learned was named Trenton, was always talking to each other every breakfast morning. I really enjoyed his company. Even though he still didn't talk all too much, I just loved having the feeling of someone else with me. To keep me company.

But that all changed since that day.

"Hey Trenton, come eat with me." I cheerfully said to him.

"Again? Why do you even like my company young master." He said sighing as he took a seat next to me.

I swayed side to side, "I just love it." I said smiling up at him with a mouth full of pancakes.

"Ok" He sat down right next to me and watched me eat.

I then heard the door of the dining room slam open. Loud and powerful footsteps became louder and louder. I looked up with my face filled with syrup, and there I saw a familiar face but, not too familiar. The guy who gave me my eyes and hair. There stood my father.

"Hi daddy why are you here?" He didn't answer me but, instantly looked down at the butler sitting down. But when I looked at him I saw him trembling with fear, he fiddled with his hands as his eyes kept going from one object to the other. Then something went off in him.

He stood up suddenly and bowed at my father, looking directly down. "Welcome back Master."

"Oh shove it peasant." He said

I saw Trenton freeze at that name. He slowly raised his head again and stood up straight. But still he avoided my father's eyes. "Look at me, Trenton. I am trying to talk to you." He yelled.

He quickly looked up at my dad's cold brown eyes. I still sat there in my seat not all too sure in what was going on. Why was daddy mad? Why is he acting this way to Trenton?

"So peasant, tell me, why in the goddamn world are you sitting down at this dining table." he said as he loudly slammed down on the table with his huge hands.

"I--I--I" He stuttered

"I what, are you planning to talk back to me. I surely hope your not," he said crossing his arms

He shook his head, "No-no-no I'm not it's just Hyugo here asked me to hang out with him." He said looking behind him and at me and smiled

"He what." My dad said "I doubt that. Why would someone with my blood running through them want to be near a peasant like you? I know he would never do that."

I noticed what was going on and started to help prove Trenton innocent, "Daddy it is---"

"Shut up Hyugo, this has nothing to do with you." He harshly said to me

I got up and went to Trenton's side, "But it does Daddy, you are falsely accusing Trenton." I said ignoring his demand.

"Hyugo... How dare you call this peasant by his first name. He doesn't deserve it, only the rich and famous should have their names spoken." Father said but I felt like he was talking about something else.

"But daddy---" He cut me off.

He turned from me to him, "I sure hope you didn't tell him any unnecessary piece of information." Father started to accuse him.

"Nothing at all sir. I didn't do anything bad. I kept the promise, I would never tell him about it." He was in a panic. I could hear it in his voice. He was crying.

"Daddy please stop yelling at him." I pleaded. He looked at me with a stern face then at the crying butler. He didn't say anything at all, just stood here. But that didn't take too long, "I had enough of this. You broke the promise, so get out of my dining room. No... matter a fact get out of this house. You are fired."

These three words made my heart drop. I ran in front of Trenton guarding him from my dad. "Why daddy, why are you firing him" I yelled

He grabbed me and turned me to face him, "Cause this peasant can't be trusted anymore. Look at him Hyugo take a good look of this man, this may or may not be the last time you will ever see him." Father said.

I looked at him, his terrified face his eyes filled with tears, his cheeks stained with tears. "Right there is the face of peasants, poor people. You don't want to be near them, talk to them, and let them get to you." Father whispered in my ear.

"But-"

"Stay quiet Hyugo. It's ok. I deserve this and it is my time to leave now. I broke his promise so now I have to face the consequences of it. So I guess it was nice knowing you at least, hope to see you soon." Trenton said as he walked out the dining room with his head facing down.

I stared at his saddened back.

"No please don't leave. Don't leave me alone." I yelled out crying and was about to run after him, but my father grabbed hold of me with a sad face.

"Bye Hyugo." Was the last thing I heard Trenton say as he disappeared from my life.

Since that day father made sure to ingrain in my head to never interact or befriend low lives. That they weren't worth my time. Of course I didn't believe it but, it was only so long that I could keep that mindset.

Once I was in the 6th grade my perspective changed. I started to listen to what my dad has been saying. I stopped trying to befriend anybody that had no importance to me. But even if I think and do all this some nights I still get dreams with Trenton in them, reminding me of my happy days.
