Chapter 9
"45 seconds." Actaeron stated, looking down at the stopwatch.
"So is that good or bad?" Elias asked, nervously chewing on his lip.
"It is moderate, okay." He murmured and looked up at him. Elias nodded.
"Well, let's try again then." Elias then took off, this time pushing himself to be faster. Actaeron sighed and began timing him again, watching him quietly.
When Elias came back around, he was panting and already dripping with sweat, two of the few signs that meant that he was overworking himself.
"Better, but don't push yourself." The man murmured and brought the hand holding the stopwatch down to his side.
"I am so out of shape..." Elias mumbled, sighing quietly. It was starting to get dark outside, the night drawing closer.
"You're fine." Actaeron reassured.
"What should we do now?" He asked.
"It is almost time for the trainees to eat." The other replied simply. The demon let out a quiet sigh.
"Good, I am starving." He whisperd.
"But first," Actaeron cut in. "We need to hide those horns of yours." He knitted his brows at the man's words, reaching up to touch the subject in the matter.
"How do we do that?" He asked nervously.
"I have a friend." He replied.
Slowly, the smaller of the males swallowed the lump in his throat. "Lead the way then."
Actaeron nodded, walking to a separate building, looking similar to a mansion, Elias following quietly behind, afraid of having his horns removed. Rumor has it that demons who had their horns removed bled out within seconds, as several arteries pumped through each one. Removal meant death in the realm Elias once called home.
The tall male knocked on the door, Kiani coming to it within seconds opening it slowly.
"Hello, sweetheart." Actaeron murmured. Elias perked up, peeking around Actaeron and waving softly as a greeting.
She blushed and smiled as an attempt to hide it. "Hi.." She murmured/
"We have come to do something about my horns." Elias declared bravely.
She looked at him and nodded. "Right... Come in." Elias obeyed and stepped inside as he never moved past Actaeron, out of respect for his master.
"Go on, I have things to do." He murmured. The demon looked up at him sheepishly, nodding before he stepped inside and joined Kiani. She waved to Actaeron before closing the door silently. Upstairs Excalibur was calming himself down for the night, going over incidents occurring around his base or nearby, assigning them to each other the members who had reached certain levels to hunt demons and take them down. Lower class would be sent out after them to clean up their mess, posing as FBI or police officers to explain to bystanders the situation and, if worse came to worse, exterminate them. Elias looked up at the girl, touching one of his horns.
"So, what can we do about these?" He asked.
"We will just style your hair to hide them enough."
"Okay," he nodded, knowing he had plenty of long hair to do it with. He slowly sat down in front of the mirror. "Have at it." Kiani stepped forward and began to move his hair around and trim it while Elias purred softly. They shared a smile and a sigh, Elias' stomach growling.
