Gumball's P.O.V

"It seems like you're both suffering from heart break." Nurse Pound Cake glanced at me nervously.

I looked over at Marshall's sleeping body on the couch then looked back at Nurse Pound Cake.

"Heart break?" I repeated, pulling on my sleeves.

"It is real. There is a condition called Takotsubo cardiomyopathy where a traumatising incident triggers the brain to distribute chemicals that weaken heart tissue."

"But Marshall doesn't have a heart-"

"He has a heart, my Prince, but the heart is just not beating. But I have done some researching and it seems that whenever The Vampire is around his spouse, his true love, the heart becomes alive. It doesn't pump blood, no, it just beats."

I stared at her in shock from what she just said.

"Marshall," she gestured to the passed out vampire, "is your true love." I glanced at Marshall.

"Marshall's my true love..."

"So, you're saying.... He's the one for me... No one else?"

She nodded.

"He should be waking up soon. He's lucky Jake was there to catch him."

"Oh, yes, where is Jake?"

"He's waiting in the hall outside. He wants to check on Marshall."

"Send him in please and thank you for taking care of Marshall,"

She nodded and started walking to the door, but I stopped her for one more question.

"How do we stop the pain in our chests?"

She stopped walking and turned to me.

"I'm assuming you would have to become one."

"As in...?"

"Yes."

I sighed, rubbing my chest, feeling a little burn. "Okay, you can send Jake in now."

Jake and I were sitting in my lab, me with a cup of tea and him with a cookie. Not the best place to have tea and cookies, but I felt like coming in here.

"Is Marsh alright?" I nodded.

"He's resting in my room on my bed right now." I sipped at my tea, setting it back down on the little plate, placing it on the table.

"Thank you for saving him."

"Well, that's no problem. And I came here about-"

"If it's about who I think it's about then leave. I don't want to ever hear his name in my kingdom ever again."

He went quiet as can awkward silence fell over us.

"So... How did you get the protection wall down?"

"I got a random wizard to come and take it off," I shrugged.

"Oh, so Fi-"

I glared at him.
