The second week of May was for testing. The week was long and boring. The ACT was hard, it took a long time too. Max still crammed for it but I just took it too take care of it. I was just happy high school was almost over. When Max got back from testing on Friday he just laid down next too me in bed. "I'm finally done."

I smiled, "How was it?"

"It was hard. You should've taken it today instead of yesterday. You could've just come home and slept." He said closing his eyes.

"Get some rest." I said as I got my laptop. Soon Max was snoring softly while laying on his stomach very close too me. I could feel the heat radiating off of him. I smiled softly and leaned over and kissed his head. He was pretty adorable when he was asleep.

I got on my computer and looked through my email. I had a lot of spam, but one from my sister. I quickly opened it too read it.

Dear Wynter,

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. I got all of the details worked out for your summer trip. June twenty first to July first. Ten days with your sister! Woo! I hope that works okay, I bought the plane tickets and everything. I attached a link, all you have to do is print them out. I can't wait too see you! Your flight comes in to Richmond and it's about an hours drive to Charlottesville, so be prepared for that.

Love you lots,

Stella.

I smiled as I read it. Stella had taken care of everything for me. I couldn't wait too see her. Eleven whole days to catch up with her. I wondered what her life was like now? I'm sure she had changed a lot. She never even told me if she was married or dating or anything. If she was married I would feel a little disappointed because she hadn't invited me to the wedding.

I replied to her email then got out my phone and called Isabel. I got up softly from the bed and walked down the hall to Max's room to talk too her. It rang a few times then she answered in her always cheery voice. "Hey Wynter, what's up?" She asked.

"I just got great news! Stella bought me a plane ticket to Virginia. I'm going too see her this summer." I said smiling.

"Oh my god Wynter that's wonderful!" Said Isabel, "Are you excited?"

"Well duh." I said laughing. "I miss her so much."

"I'm happy for you Wynter." She said laughing, "I have to go now. I'm working a shift at the restaurant in a few for a little extra cash. I'll talk too you later."

"Bye Isabel! Have fun." I said smiling then I hung up. After we hung up I walked downstairs too get some milk. When I walked into the kitchen Mr. Jones was sitting at the table. I walked over too the fridge, got the milk out and poured me a glass.

"Wynter, can I talk to you for a moment." Said Mr. Jones.

"Yes, of course. What is it sir?" I asked as I walked over and sat down at the table. It was weird for him too be home, I guess he had taken the day off.

"It's about Max." He said looking at me. Max hadn't had a full conversation with his father since I moved in. It felt weird to talk to him myself.

"What about him?" I asked. I took a sip of milk and said a little prayer. What if Max's dad had found out? I felt my mouth go dry and I stared at the milk in the glass, as if too be interested by it.

"Well I noticed," I held my breath as he continued, "Max has seemed down lately. I wanted too get him something, but I'm not sure what. I figured you could help." He finished. I let my breath go.

"Yeah sure." I smiled, "He really likes chocolate."

"Really? I never knew that. What kind?" He asked me. Then I realized that Mr. Jones said he didn't know that about his own son. I knew more about Max than his own dad. That made me sad. Then I remembered my mom barely remembered my birthday and then I thought Max was lucky that his dad at least cared about him. It still wasn't much better though. Max loved chocolate, he always told me it was his favorite thing in the world, yet his dad didn't know.

"He loves Hershey bars the best, just the plain ones. Not cookies and cream. He also loves anything with nuts in it, like Snickers and Take Five's." I said drinking more milk.

"Oh, that's good too know." Said Mr. Jones. Just than Morgan walked into the room. "Did you know that Max loves chocolate, honey?"

Morgan set her purse down and sighed, "Of course I did Mark. He's our son and you should've known that." She said. She seemed to loose her usual composure and looked tired and annoyed.

I was no expert on married couples but I knew a fight was about to break out. I took my glass of milk and silently walked out of the room. They were still arguing by the time I got upstairs. It sounded like a pretty serious fight too, but married couples fought all the time. I'm sure it was nothing too major. I walked into the bathroom and decided to take a shower, I had nothing better to do.

When I got our I wrapped a towel around me and walked back to my bedroom. I expected Max too still be asleep but it looked like he had just woke up. "Where've you been? I was starting to miss you." His voice still had traces of sleep and his hair was messed up. He was pretty adorable.

"I just got out of the shower." I said. I thought it was better to leave out the part about his parents and everything.

"Or, to put it in a sexual way, now you're dripping wet and naked." He said laughing as he laid back and closed his eyes.

"Yeah, yeah." I said laughing. I took the opportunity of him having his eyes closed too quickly get on some sweats. They happened to be Max's comfy and soft gray ones. I then walked over to the bed and laid down next too him. Just then the door opened and we both say up simultaneously, it was just Maggie.

"Sorry, sorry! Am I interrupting something?" She asked, her face turning red.

"Oh my god Maggie no!" Said Max.

"Okay... Max I need you too come downstairs. Mom and Dad want too talk to us." Said Maggie. I had a bad feeling this had to do with the fight they were having earlier.

"Oh, okay." Said Max standing of off the bed. He stretched yawned and smiled, "I'll be back later too snuggle, okay Wynter?"

I laughed, "I'll be waiting." I said smiling as Maggie and Max left. I got my laptop and started looking for something too do. For once I didn't have homework so i didn't really know what too do. I somehow ended up watching cat videos on YouTube. Who knew there were so many? I had always wanted a cat. I made a mental note too buy one some day.

Max came back in the room, shut the door then sunk into the bed next too me. "How'd it go?" I asked him as I set my laptop down.

"They just asked Maggie and I what we thought about them getting a divorce. Hypothetically." He said. I'm pretty sure it wasn't just hypothetical, but using say anything.

"Oh." I said laying down with him.

"Don't worry about it. They'll be fine." He said pulling me into him and kissing my head softly. I wasn't so sure that they were going to be fine.
