"Ben lets go," Mackie says to Ben about to grab him but Ben moves back afraid of the boy standing in front of him covered in blood. "We have to leave! The cops are coming" Mackie tries to yank Ben from his friends as everyone runs out of the house, but Ben doesn't want to leave trying to pull himself away. "Ben please"

"Get off him!" Ali shoves Mackie knocking him down "YOU RUINED EVERYTHING" she yells at him "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE!"

Trying to look at Ben who stands behind Ali too shocked by everything that spiraled tonight to speak, "Ben I swear I didn't do this you have to believe me" Mackie can tell this one was going to be too much to forgive.

"Bro lets go!" Harley runs up to Mackie pulling him away, deciding to run with his brother Mackie leaves Ben with his friends as the cops pull up and everyone scatters outside in fear. What was supposed to be an amazing party goes completely wrong, and without trying, Mackie ended up being the center of it all.

-The day before-

Late to their first period, Ben and Mackie stand against a wall behind the school making out with each other, Ben loved how good everything's been the last few days. They've grown closer and if how Mackie has him pinned against the wall wasn't any indication, they've been having a lot more sex.

They were in way too deep to stop now, Mackie's helmet and jacket lying on the floor next to Ben's backpack as Mackie's hand massages his ass. "Oh my god" Ben breathes and moans reacting to Mackie kissing his neck, Ben's hand makes its way up Mackie's shirt feeling every muscly bump the boy has.

"See Brooke told you we'd find him back here dry humping Denver," pulling away Mackie and Ben turn to Ali and Brooke who stares. Ali laughs "oh my god your fucking lips are so swollen dude"

"Shut up" Ben tries to fix his clothes, "what do you guys want?"

"Ali got Aaron Johnson to come to her party" Brooke answers

"How'd you manage that?" Ben asks

"Flashed him my tits" she grins

Mackie looks at her weird and Ben turns to him "she's joking,"

"Yeah I am but if he shows up he can definitely see my tits" she chuckles.

"Who's Aaron Johnson?" Mackie asks confused

All 3 friends turn to him surprised "who are you dirty Denver?" Ali asks offended Mackie doesn't know who Aaron Johnson is

"Aaron Johnson is on the basketball team" Ben answers Mackie's question

"Excuse you he is the basketball team, and my birthday party will be the start of our love... or us fucking in my bed, I'm fine with either honestly."

"Right so" Ben starts, "have you thought more about what we talked about?"

"We talk about a lot Ben you're gonna have to refresh my memory,"

"Inviting Mackie to your party, dummy"

"Ben I don't care" Mackie tries to cut in.

"I do," he says to Mackie then turns back to Ali "you promised you'd stop being a bitch to him Ali, and doing this would be a step towards that direction."

She sighs "ok fine he can come."

"No look at him and invite him like you did with everyone else" she gives Ben a face and Ben does one right back insisting that she does it.

Rolling her eyes she turns to Mackie, "you can come to my party"

"Thanks for doing me such a great favor" he replies sarcastically.

"Let's go, Brooke," they turn leaving Ben and Mackie.

Turning to each other "I honestly don't care about going to her party, Ben"

"I know cool guy" Ben wraps his arms around Mackie's neck, "but if you come with me you'll get something extra special"

Grinning "oh yeah?"

Ben nods "Ali has like a thousand rooms in her house, I'm sure we can find an empty one" he leans in kissing Mackie. "Are you picking up what I'm putting down?" Ben flirts making Mackie laugh

"Yes I am" he continues to kiss the boy and the bell rings.

"Walk me to class?" Ben hands Mackie his bag

And Mackie takes it, "come on."

They go back inside and as they're walking Ben is explaining what tomorrow will look like before the party. "My mom's going with me to get this off finally" he hints to his cast, "then afterward Serena is lending me her car, I'll pick you up and we head to Ali's."

"Ok but I was thinking since the party isn't until like nine, maybe you'd want to do something together?"

"Like what?" Ben looks at Mackie with a smile

"I don't know like get dinner, or you finally take me to Hanigans like you've been promising"

Ben chuckles "sure that sounds great." As they're walking an unwanted person joins them causing Ben's smile to disappear, "what do you want Jeremy?"

"Am I gonna see you love birds at the party tomorrow night?"

"You're not invited stupid" Ben scolds him.

"I'm not? Damn maybe Ali gave me this by mistake" he holds out his invite, "oh but my name's on it" with a sneaky grin he walks away and Ben stops.

"I'm gonna kill her" Ben's blood boils

"It's fine Ben let it go."

"No, it's not! Why the fuck would she invite him?"

"I don't know but there's your class so go in"

"Forget that I'm gonna go look for Ali, I'll find you later ok?" Without waiting for a reply Ben walks away obviously upset about to tear his best friend a new one.

Getting to work after school Mackie walks into his mom office dropping on her couch, turning around she stares at him and the grin on his face "you're in a good mood" she comments.

"For the first time in a long time I am" he looks at her, "I know shit at home isn't good and everyone at school thinks I'm a thug..."

"But?"

"But" he sits up "Ben and I are in a good place I feel like my life is drama free."

"I'm happy for you kiddo" she smiles with him, "I mean everyone misses you at home but"

"Mom" he stands up feeling like she's about to ruin his good mood

"I'm sorry Ken but it's true we miss you,"

"And I miss you guys too but I'm happy, I have a place, and I'm in a relationship. I'm doing so much better than some people" Mackie hints at the picture of Harley on his mom's wall.

"Yeah yeah get to work."

Getting his jumpsuit halfway on Mackie starts to work. Few hours past with his head still under a hood and music in his ears, Mackie feels a hand on his shoulder "yeah?" He lifts his head turning "hey" he sees Ben.

"Hi my working man" Ben kisses him

"What's up? What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to show you something" He grins

"What?"

"Notice anything different about me?" Mackie scans him from head to toe and Ben raises his arm waving it in Mackie's face

"New haircut?" He jokes and Ben shoves him with his healed arm, "how'd that happen?"

"My mom came home early, apparently the doctor called and said I could take it off today if I want. It feels so good to have my freaking arm back!" Ben exclaims excitedly

"It looks so pale, are you sure it's even alive?"

"Shut up" Ben laughs

"Hi, Ben" Mackie's mom walks from the back where her office is, "how's it going?"

"Hi, Mrs. Denver" he turns as she walks to them "Good, how are you?"

"Ken tells me you're taking good care of him so I'm good"

"Mom!" Mackie feels embarrassed

"You should've heard him earlier, Ben, raving about how good life is at his hideaway no one knows about, and you the special guy he never invites over for dinner."

"Ma please,"

"Sorry sorry I'm just teasing" she smiles, "Thanks for stopping by"

"No problem" they watch her walk back. "What was that about?" He asks when Mackie's mom is out of sight

"Nothing I was just telling her how good shit's been lately with us and I'm genuinely happy for once."

"Aww is that because of me?" Ben inches closer with a wide smile

"No, it's not" Mackie jokes back with a smile to match.

"Liar" they lean lips closing in

"I'm not"

"Yes you are" Ben replies with their lips practically touching, "I make you happy admit it."

"I admit nothing" they finally give in kissing each other against the open hood of the car Mackie was working on. Not caring what the other guys around have to say Mackie kisses his boyfriend, "get out of here I have to finish work"

"Call me when you get home? I have another surprise for you"

"Yeah?"

Taking Mackie's dirty hand Ben places it on his butt "yeah" he kisses him one last time "I think you'll like this one." Mackie watches him as he walks out.
