It'd been nearly two weeks since I was adopted and things were slowly becoming better, I guess you could say. I was comfortable, more so than I was when I first arrived. I'd gotten used to the twins and Bradley and I was more comfortable around Tyler. I considered him a friend now and we hung out a lot during the nights to play video games and talk. I'd learned that he'd been at the same orphanage I had been at since he was born, and three years ago Samantha and John came in and adopted him. To say the least, Tyler made it more comfortable to live there.

Currently I was sitting at the dinner sat just like I had been for every night the last two weeks. It was the same, honestly. John worked at night so he wasn't here for dinner, Samantha cooked and cleaned like a normal housewife, took Ava and Abigail to school and cared at home for Bradley since they opted for him to be home schooled considering he doesn't talk.

"And then Miss Lilly gave us free time for the rest of the day!" Abigail explained excitedly. She and Ava were the only ones really talking, well besides Samantha who'd give in her opinion once in awhile.

"Oh wow, did you have fun?" Samantha asked, both the girls nodded and smiled widely. Samantha grinned and continued eating. It was silent, save for the silverware clanking against the plates. I almost hated this silence, it was something that kept going for too long every night.

"Alan? What was your original family like?" Ava asked randomly.

"That's not appropriate for you to ask, young lady." Samantha scolded her, Ava pouted at her and quietly apologized. I didn't say anything for the rest of dinner, just continued to eat until I was finished.

Samantha had finished before everyone and was already beginning to rinse off the dishes and put them into the dishwasher. I walked over beside her and placed my plate in sink then staying stood there, biting down on my lip.

"Is there anything you need, sweetie?" Samantha asked once I had been stood there for a few minutes. I could feel my heart racing in my chest as I contemplated what to say.

"Um, can I... can I ask you something?" I questioned quietly, fiddling with the bottom of my shirt. This could go either way, I ask what I was wondering and she could sweetly respond or she could yell at me and tell me to go upstairs, though I've yet to hear her yell at someone for something, unless it was one of the little ones for doing something wrong.

"Of course, honey. You can ask me anything." She said, smiling once again as she turned and placed a cup in the top rack of the dishwasher.

"So, I-I have a boyfriend and um, I was wondering if-if maybe you and John could meet him?" I asked nervously. Samantha stopped with what she was doing and I prepared myself for the worst, but it didn't happen.

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe you have a boyfriend!" She said, smiling widely. "Is he handsome? How old is he? Oh, is he that boy from the orphanage?" She began to spill questions out and I barely expected it.

"What's his name?" She questioned, wiping his hands on a towel.

"His name is Austin," I told her, grinning. Samantha smiled again and pulled me into a tight hug.

"He can come over tomorrow for dinner. John is off anyways, so those two can meet each other," Samantha said. "This is so exciting!"

It was warm and fuzzy, the way I was feeling. She was so excited about this and didn't seem to care at all about the fact that I, a teenage boy had a boyfriend. I never told my dad that I was gay, but that didn't stop him from hitting me all the time.

I left from the kitchen and went upstairs to my room, flopping down on my bed like I did all the time. I pulled my phone from the charger and quickly found Austin's number, deciding that I should call him and drop the news. He answered after a couple of rings, sounding like his usual chirpy self.

"Hey baby," he greeted. The nickname never failed to make my stomach flip.

"Hello to you too," I said, biting down on my lip. "I want to tell you something."

"Oh really? Is it good or bad?" He questioned.

"Well, it really depends. I think it's good news." I told him, rolling onto my side.

"Okay, tell me."

"I told Samantha about you, and she seems really excited about the fact that I have a boyfriend," I said, chuckling. "She said she wants you to come over for dinner tomorrow, just so that she and John can meet you."

"Really? That's good, but are you sure you're comfortable enough? I know you said you didn't want to do anything until you felt okay there." He said, shuffling around in the background.

"Of course, I want you to meet them. I'll be good, you can finally meet Bradley, Ava and Abigail, and Tyler, too." I said softly.

"Then okay, I'll ride with you to your stop after school." Austin said, I grinned widely, feeling so happy that things were going so well. I had a family that was accepting and a boyfriend who was so amazing and handsome. It made my heart swell just thinking about him, and I knew right then that I was in love.

We talked on the phone until we both grew tired. I was ready to fall asleep and had already been silently dosing off but forcing myself awake again when Austin began to talk. We both said a goodnight and hung up. I plugged my phone up and laid down on the bedside table before crawling beneath the covers and falling asleep.

I was in love and my boyfriend was meeting my adoptive parents and siblings. What more good could happen?
